Cindy and Roger of Ormond Entertainment are, quite simply, FABULOUS at what they do!…read more We hired them for our wedding (September 2011) after a few phone conversations. We were so impressed by their in-depth knowledge of what is involved to run a wedding reception - beyond just the music. They talked about the pacing of a reception and what goes into making a reception fun and memorable for all the guests (and the wedding couple). In addition, we loved how personalized an approach they took and we knew that they would customize our reception just how we wanted (and, of course, no cookie cutter music sets, no "required" parts of the reception and certainly no cheesy songs or games). Once we met both of them in person last Spring, we sat down and talked in more detail about the music for the reception. We had LOTS of unique and ecclectic music requests, but Roger and Cindy had no problems with this - they worked our music together in an amazing way. (We still - four months later - have guests talking about our cocktail hour music!) Also, they personalized the reception how we wanted and kept everything flowing seemlessly throughout. Our guests were up dancing, having fun and we had a blast through the whole time! Cindy and Roger are a wonderful team who put together great music, have guests up dancing and coordinate all the details of a wedding reception. They were super easy to work with, had no problems with our somewhat unusual music selections and are - very importantly - nice, friendly, fun people! Thanks again Cindy and Roger!

We found a number of our vendors simply by asking family and friends. This was also the case with Peter; Rachel's uncle used to work with him many years ago and recommended Peter's DJ services to us. We were so glad to make that connection! Prior to the wedding, we met Peter in person once - the day we signed the contract - and otherwise communicated over email and Skype. It was perfect for us since we held the wedding in Central NY but planned it from San Francisco. Peter was always quick to respond to emails any time we had questions and always incredibly helpful. It took us a long time to settle on songs to use throughout the ceremony and reception but Peter was helpful, flexible and adaptable when working with us on a late schedule. He comes prepared with a list of song suggestions from previous clients that he can give to help with your choices for first dances, cake cutting, ceremony, etc. As we got to the week before the wedding we changed our mind on what we wanted for music playing during dinner. We told Peter to play songs from the 1950s to today over the course of dinner - essentially walking us through the decades. That was all the direction he needed to run with it and make it a hit. We trusted Peter to pick songs when we couldn't; we decided a day or two before the wedding that we wanted to do the "shoe game" during the reception and delegated the song selection to him without a second thought. He nailed it - with game show music! We had a surprise firework showing in the evening. Peter didn't know about this until we told him 10 minutes prior. We asked him to "make an announcement" for people to stay just a bit longer - without giving away the surprise - because many were starting to leave. He did a great job with the announcement and gave the attendees a hint of what was coming by playing Katy Perry's "Firework" song. Our event was outside and the dinner and reception were held primarily inside a large tent. We used Peter's wireless uplights to help illuminate the tent. This was HUGE for us. One of our biggest worries going into this event was powering everything on generators. Knowing that Peter had *wireless* lights he could bring for us - that ran on batteries and wouldn't need the generator was a huge win for us. He let us customize the colors we used for the uplights to match the wedding colors. Peter is extremely detailed in his planning and preparation prior to the event which we saw reflected as a seamlessly run event - with him leading the way. We'd hire him again in a heartbeat and highly recommend him to anyone who may want DJ services in the future.

Peter was great! I chose him as our wedding dj largely for his organizational skills (based off of…read moreother reviews). He put together a day-of schedule that he distributed to us as well as all of our other vendors (photographer, officiant, etc) so everyone knew what was happening and when. He also was a great help for music selections and played exactly what we wanted-- we requested a couple of Hindi songs which was no problem for him to incorporate into our reception setlist. He also provided music during and before our ceremony. We had music playing as guests arrived and two microphones for the ceremony for an officiant and a vocalist. If you're in the central NY area, you can't go wrong with Peter!

This is a horrible company to hire for your wedding..i will explain why..first they don't send out…read morethe DJ you speak with or who you think the DJ is going to be..Mike is the GM and Jamie is the owner and they just farm your DJ to anyone and take no responsibility for it..Theres no do overs, no making wright what they ruin..I cant go back in time and not use there service but I can try and let other people know so they can avoid this company on there special day.. We told Mike the type of music we wanted, the age of the crowd but it goes in one ear and out the other because when there farmed out DJ shows up they are clueless..They just push a play button and the same generic wedding garbage music comes out..no interaction with the crowd to get them up on there feet and entertained, by the way they are suppose to be the entertainment, nope just a card board cutout sitting pushing a button..Jamies answer is "We don't encourage people to come up on the dance floor, not our responsibility" I don't remember that in there sales pitch or that being there mantra..Even when people and even the bride her self would ask him to play certain songs he would just stare at you or say I don't know that one.. Can't remember his name and I'm not trying to be mean but he was a very heavy set man with dark hair.. When we talked to Jamie next day he didn't care but did say he never received a complaint before.(I see 2 on yelp that are similar to mine).Finaly I know that Jammin Beats cant control evrything there farmed out DJ does but they could have standards and only choose the best DJ's they audition but based on what I experienced at my daughters $30,000 wedding at owera winery they dont audition they just send out anybody who's available. I would strongly suggest not using this company..because anyone who was at our wedding would never hire "Jammin beats" In closing I have to give a star to send this review but I wouldn't even give him 1 star if I was able.

For some reason on wedding wire this company has a high rating- I don't know how everyone else had…read moresuch a great experience and then somehow for my wedding, they really messed up. First off, they showed up late! Two- the DJ completely messed up the introductions (it was awful), they skipped a bridesmaid/groomsman pair and almost skipped the best man and maid of honor! And third, the DJ wasn't very nice. I found out that there were 2 versions of the song I chose for my first dance so I asked him at the venue if he could verify with me that he had the right version. He was really mean about it and wasn't going to do anything about it until I practically started to yell and finally he got his computer out and quietly played the song to make sure it was the right one (this was before the introductions and before he was DJing). Because of these things, it was really bad. Also, he kept bothering me through the night regarding the schedule even though we had gone over it prior to the events starting, so as I was having a good time with my friends, the DJ was pulling me off the dance floor because he forgot the schedule???? Basically I was most disappointed that he completely messed up the introductions (even though just 10 minutes before we went over the entire line up!!!!!!!). And he wasn't very nice.
