Stopped by here the other day to check what do they have. I got enticed with the 99 cents sale outside. Inside is very compacted. Every nook and cranny is used. Just be careful in moving because you might knock some of the breakable displays. They have beautiful things and some antiques. I didn't buy some of them though because I have no place for them. I checked out the clothes, shoes, and bags and so far the prices are competitive with other thrift shops. I would come back again. I forgot to ask though if they buy/trade items. Plenty of parking lot that is shared with other businesses. Dressing room is a plus!!! read more

I went there today and some of the fixtures say not for sale but sold??? i asked her again if they have others for sale she got snappy for no reason. Im so glad this is going out of business!!! The good: I came looking for medical scrubs and saw a section where they separated it. I was able to get 2 pairs of pants. This place is small but is very clean and well organized. There is little dust on the shelves. They carry an assortment of things that include clothes, shoes, small appliances, toys, teapots, books, furniture, house decor, etc. I was able to buy a hanging jewelry organizer for $2.99. There is a lot of parking available here. The bad: The scrubs here were $2.99 per piece but they're a dollar cheaper next door at the other thrift store. The interesting: They had a 1950s vintage side table and a basket of magnets and keychains. I don't think I've seen a thrift store have a designated basket for key chains before. The keychains were mainly cheesy souvenir ones you'd see in gas stations or souvenir shops. read more

This is one of the most lovely thrift shop boutiques I've ever been to. It's extremely clean and organized, you can feel how much that love has been been put into the space. Whimby's doesn't just sell anything, they have carefully curated donated items that are arranged nicely around the store. This makes it very pleasant and easy to shop. As an avid thrifter myself, I really appreciate how taken care of the store is and how nice and clean everything is. There is some thing here for everyone! They have clothing, amazing accessories, shoes and home goods for the whole family. Mostly gently used items but also some brand new trendy things too. I feel like a better location could have been chosen for this thrift store. With Hope of The Valley Thrift Store literally right next door and Goodwill about a quarter mile down the road, I honestly don't expect this place to last long. As far as the items go, the inventory isn't too impressive and I haven't come across anything too interesting or valuable. They have a lot of clothes, toys, books, and basic knick knacks and some furniture but a lot of the stuff in the store seems to have been there since day one when they opened and it doesn't seem like they get too much new or interesting inventory often, most likely because these items are being donated to the two massive thrift stores that this little place is literally in between. The prices are a little high on some of the items which for me as a reseller leaves me no room at all for making any money myself and as a collector it's never fun to have to pay full market value for something in a thrift store where things should be cheaper. If that is the case then I might as well shop on ebay. As far as the staff goes they are all very kind and welcoming and I really like that they say they donate some of their profit to charity so I'm really rooting for this place to succeed because I would hate to see a small business fail, but I just really think that they chose a very bad location for this little thrift store and they need to work on having more quality inventory. Also it seems some of the other reviews on here are obviously written by friends or family of the business to increase their yelp rating. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think I am, I've been Yelping for quite awhile. Just my two cents! read more

I walked in today and was intrigued by the antique items they sell ( pretty pricey) but I spent time looking at everything, I saw the owner and asked her a question on what she thinks the re sell values would be and boy! That question really rubbed her the wrong way, she was extremely rude and belittling and went on about everything being donated, if everything is donated then why are your prices so expensive? Anyways not coming back here I had a cool experience until I met the owner, she was extremely rude, I don't understand how someone can run a business and not have good customer service skills? I go to thrift stores everywhere and this is a fun store to shop. Resellers should look elsewhere as this is more of a boutique thrift store but you can find some really neat things for your own collection if you're not looking to resell stuff. CDs are $1 and clothes are pretty reasonably priced. Would be nice if records could be $1 too. There's usually quite a bit of interesting furniture, figurines and collectibles. I agree prices could be a little better for a thrift store, but I would say they are on par with Goodwill boutique items. They get a lot of stuff every week so there is always something new to see which is fun. The store is super clean, well organized and has quite a variety. I get the sense they could fill a store twice the size...donations seem to come in often. The owner is probably the hardest working person in the thrift world; she is always stocking items, cleaning, re-arranging and still managed to greet people as they come in. She is passionate about her store and very direct so some people may take her the wrong way but I personally think she is super nice...we talk all the time when I'm in the store. And she has great taste in music! She's always cranking great 70's rock in the store. Clearly, she takes pride in her work and I enjoy shopping here and knowing my money is going to help schools in the SCV. read more

Quickly becoming one of my favorite places for thrifting. The employees are helpful and nice and the place is well organized and I actually like that they keep it small and it seems well " curated" for the more quality brands and items. Yes there are some pricey things, but mostly only things that are genuinely of higher value and quality brands or antiques and in excellent condition. This is one of the few shops I'd pick up gifts for other friends I have who also thrift. I've bought so many different items from clothes, handbags ( and jewelry ) for myself and my daughter to books, dvds and serveware. I haven't checked out their Christmas store yet! Yikes that could be dangerous. They also keep seasonal items on racks toward the front such as winter coats and snow or ski attire. Overall a small but very good place to thrift. You don't become overwhelmed the way you may in some of the huge places with miles of clothing racks. Highly recommended and thanks to the employees who have always been helpful and kind. read more

Found exactly what I needed whenever I went there. It's in a more convenient location (SS donuts/former TJ Maxx lot) compared to Goodwill and the employees do a great job at decorating and stocking. Prices were good too and it's nice to have so many options without needing to buy new. They have a really good variety and I recommend checking them out. It's really fun to browse with their collection including pins, CDs, and the occasional typewriter. read more

This was a very clean thrift store packed with clothes for our teenaged girls! We went to another store first and didn't have as much time as we would have liked at Whimbys. I agree 100% with Shawn U. that the good reviews here must be from family and friends of the owners. I gave 1 star because of the friendly staff. That being said, this place receives FREE goods to sell and gouges their prices like crazy!!! I am a re-seller and thrift everywhere I go. I have never seen prices so high (more than eBay prices-I thought the Good Will pricers were smoking something). I only went her 1 time, several months ago and that was enough for me. I spend quite a bit at thrift stores. They could be making so much more money if only they would lower their prices significantly. All of the other thrift stores in the area often have to turn donators away, as many people in Santa Clarita bring items they no longer want/need to them. There are many re-sellers like myself who would patronize this store and help them profit greatly if they would simply cut the prices way back. I was the only customer when I visited this store and no one else was coming near the place. With Hope of the Valley drawing in a lot of thrifters and only a couple of doors down from this store, they would most likely get a plethora of buyers by pricing correctly for thrift store items. read more
