The best tea room in Kent!! They do fanstastic cakes & have a delicious lunch menu. We had their chicken & egg mayo foccacina and it came all toasted with a lovely salad and dressing (the best dressing I've ever had in a while!). My partner had their smoked salmon & cream cheese panini and it was perfectly toasted and also came with the same side salad.
On to their drinks, we ordered a latte and their Organic English Breakfast Tea. We just died and gone to heaven!! I don't like strong coffee at all and it was a pleasure to be asked if I liked it strong or regular, and as a result I had the perfect latte ever.
My partner's English Breakfast Tea came in a charming teapot with its own strainer and was loose-leaf as well. As with most people here, we drink tea a lot. But this was the nicest tea we have had as well. And by the sounds of it, we're not the only ones as we heard other tables saying the same. We saw another table with a child who ordered a hot chocolate with cream - and it looked amazing! A pity we ordered cakes already and were too full for another helping!
Like everything else they seem to do, their cakes were also amazing! So moist and flavourful, but not too sweet like most other places. And to top it all off - it's homemade.
I must say we had the best ever time here in a tea room where everything is spot-on. And to top it all off, the surroundings are so quirky and they have a large basement that stocks all manners of antiques and interesting vintage items.
We expected a normal tea room, but came away with it being our favourite place to go to - the best drinks, sandwiches and cakes, and with no intention of shopping at all - we bought ourselves a quirky kitchen wall cabinet, funky drinking glasses and a mother-of-pearl inlaid victorian bedroom chair! the best shopping experience!! :)) read more
