Wheel and Barrow is my favourite cooking shop, especially the one of King William Road. I don't know why it is superior over the other shops, but I think it is the set out and the stock. It looks nice, everything is placed well and you can almost see everything when you enter the door. The items they stock are also better than those at other shops. I have a strange obsession with KitchenAid products. For my 18th birthday I got a red KitchenAid mixer, yes this is what I asked for. It may be because of the subtle influences of Nigella Lawson. Wheel and Barrow stock Kitchen Aid; toasters, mixers and more mixers. If you do want to splash out on an expensive appliance for your kitchen I would definitely recommend one of these. The shop also has thousands of other kitchen items. Glasses, cupcake stands, sushi making equipment and every bowl and plate you could think of. They also have a beautiful range of recipe books. It is not the biggest range, but they are good books that look so nice they could be coffee table pieces. The ladies working there are always very helpful. I just love homeware stores! Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of cooking or cleaning or any other domestic activity for that matter. I just love looking at different interior options. Wheel & Barrow is one of my favourite homeware stores, though they are on the upper scale of prices. I mean I can't exactly go on a shopping spree here, but I like to drop in, window shop and buy the occasional vase or candle. Their quality is outstanding, selling only the best brands in homeware. Cute things like cocktail glasses, sugar pots, candy jars and fondue stands are just some of the things you can find here. I like this store because it has a wider range compared to the one in Rundle Mall which has an in-store cafe, so you can grab a coffee after browsing (or buying, though I more often do the former). read more

This place is glasses galore! The first thing I noticed was the side wall just filled with different wine and champagne glasses, all of which were very nice. Then there was all the cocktail supplies which I also couldn't get past. The amounts of kitchenware that they have available here is incredible. It's not overly expensive either.
