I felt totally safe coming and going to walk my service dog. And the staff were lovely too! While the hotel has the same footprint as every other Fairfield, this one feels so fresh, new, clean, and with a contemporary twist on the classic Fairfield brand standards that we're all used to. Really enjoyed not having to check in and being able to go directly to my room with the mobile key actually functioning for once. Breakfast was same as it is at every other Fairfield.

Rooms are traditional and nothing spectacular but they are clean, well kept and they smell nice. The king suite has an extra seating area with a couch and work station which is nice. Two big tv's if that's matters and a small fridge and plenty of storage and plugs for devices. Near this hotel is a variety of fast food restaurants, Flyjng J gas station, Walmart, Bomgars, Starbucks and a quick five minutes to downtown McPherson. You can still get a room for $94/night on occasion but rarely over $130/night. Breakfast is to avoid because it's all processed but there is a decent gym and a pool which I have never used. There is a small concessions area near the front with a very limited selection of food and sundries. Angel is the manager and she is great to work with groups and deliver great customer service.

The ac unit in our room was spewing black dust, fuzz and ash all over the bed every day. It was bad and really needs to be cleaned!! That's kind of the issue with this place, everything needs a deep cleaning. Pool and spa- 8 stars. It was nice and we enjoyed the hot tub! Breakfast was exactly what you would expect for a hotel. The breakfast was nice and the area was clean. Noise level here was terrible and we found it difficult to sleep. I think it's due to the cheep/thin windows. We were kept awake all night by freeway noise. This place is RIGHT NEXT to a major freeway, so it's jake breaks all night long. And then you'll wake up to voices in the hall outside your room because there are gaps in the door frame letting in all the noise from the hallway. The noise level here is the main reason for the 2 star rating.

(Side note: If you're over 5'2", you're going to have a hard time in the shower. At 5'9", I towered over the showerhead.) When the toilet broke, we were offered the use of the bathroom in the empty room next door. We were not given a key to the room, but just had the door propped open so we could access the bathroom. When I checked out, I was told that the problems had been solved when we "changed rooms". Nevermind that, without the room key, we couldn't really use the room. Nevermind that the second bathroom was also dirty (I don't want to know if that was vomit, feces, or just dirty water spattered on the wall). That was their solution. Sometimes, the cheapest room is all you need. But be aware, if you're paying more than $30-$35 a night to stay here, you're getting ripped off.

The owners are Indian and appear to live in two of the rooms on the ground floor. The whole time I was there, my room smelled of curry and Indian food. Unfortunately for me, I do not care for Indian cuisine. There are lots of hotels in McPherson, Kansas. Don't waste your money in this one!

Housekeeping told us they were too understaffed to change our sheets or clean the room. I don't even know what we're paying for at this point. If we wanted new towels, we had to bring our used towels to the front desk and swap them out. Like at a HOSTEL. Unless they rehab this whole place and hire competent and professional staff/management/owners who take pride in their property....just go elsewhere. I also want to add that their website is FRAUDULENT. The rooms are absolutely NOT remodeled. They are patched beyond what is acceptable. There are absolutely NO WALK-IN SHOWERS OR RAINFALL SHOWERHEADS and every room does NOT have a fridge and a microwave. How do I know? Because I asked and was told that they don't have enough to go around. Our room had a fridge and we were told a microwave would be put in our room the next day. Did we get one? Nope. The chair that was in our room was stained and questionable enough that I wouldn't sit on it. We did get that switched out. And the pool area is CLOSED indefinitely. ZERO rooms have balconies or prairie views. You are not staying at some charming Bed and Breakfast out of a fairytale. Honestly, this place could be so lovely if the Patels took pride in their property instead of half-assing repairs and lying on their website. Shameful.

My daughter made a reservation on December 17, 2021 for December 20. They took her debit card…read morenumber and sent a reservation confirmation. She drove 650 miles arriving at night and the hotel was closed. First she called the reservation number and they didn't know anything, so she hung up and let me know what was going on. I then called the reservation desk and three separate occasions over a period of an hour and spoke repeatedly to foreigners who did not even know where Kansas was located much less that the hotel had been closed. After an hour of looking around my daughter found a hotel that would take her in so she's safe but we will never use Wyndham hotels again. Did I say that the reservation desk had no idea that the hotel was closed and they were completely unable to help us in anyway including guaranteeing that they wouldn't take money out of her checking account -- freaking morons!
