After 12 years of keeping our boat there, our spot that we had paid the deposit for, was given to a larger boat. This mariner wanted deposits by March 15, 2026 when they didn't even have a functioning mariner. The docks were not in place til a month ago meanwhile a season that they are charging for is from March til the fall. That is stealing in my book...the owners told us it's a Business nothing personal!!..THINK TWICE before considering them as your Mariner...nothing personal...ha ha!! read more

Mike & Zack the new operators at Whaleneck are awesome! These guys are fast, they're polite and they answer their phone! The previous group that ran this place was a complete nightmare. I am so happy to have these new operators. I bought a new ski for them and it was a quick easy transaction. They also repaired a waverunner FX SVHO for me that another dealer couldn't figure out for three years and it took them a matter of minutes. This is hands down the WORST Yamaha dealer I've ever dealt with. Hicksville isn't that far & they at least call you back. You will end up calling the office 30 times to speak to Vanessa or Lisa who give the same answer "I will speak to the tech & get you an update by days end", the call never comes and when you call back they will just place you on hold until you hang up The employee there when I arrived opened with "a lot of people come here upset, this place really isn't ran well at all" If an employee sees the issue's I'm curious to know if they don't care or if they're turning a blind eye to angry customers Any positive review of this place has to be from friends or family. Horrible experience working with Whaleneck Marina. Sometime around May 25, 2019 my GP 1800 which I bought from well Nick Marina got a crack in it and I brought the JetSki over to Whaleneck Marina. They took the machine out of the water and they placed it on a dolly where it sat. We then contacted the insurance company and the insurance company came in and determined that the machine was totaled after a day at the marina change the oil and they did a visual inspection. I then spoke with Lisa the manager for the Marina who we know for well over 15 if not 20 years. She told me that she is just going to charge the insurance company with a oil change in the 6 days of storage that it was there. She told me that the insurance company will pay for the six days of storage and the oil change I won't owe anything. She told me I can keep the ski there and she won't charge me. About a month goes by and I get a call from wall to the head mechanic. He told me that my machine is there getting beat up by the sun so I should go over and cover it with my jetski cover. Two days ago on August 22, 2019 I get a call from Lisa stating that my JetSki is at the marina and I need to pick it up and that I owe them a bunch of money for storage. I told her that that is ridiculous and that she had told me how I could keep it there for free and had I known I was being charged I would've picked it up. My father went over there on August 23 and try to speak with her. Without my consent I father offered her either $200 or $250 to just settle and move on. She told my father she would charge $750 or $10 per day in storage. My father then spoke with Walter and Walter said to come by on Saturday and we will work something out. So today on Saturday 8/24/19 I went over with the trailer and my pick up truck to pick up the ski and they refused to release the jetski to me. I spoke with Vanessa who was the only one in the main office at the time. Can you call the Lisa and Lisa said that the best they can do is $750. I told her I would be calling the police to file a report if they don't release the JetSki to me. I also spoke with Walter and Sam Gressel and neither of them could help. The two officers didn't give me a report however they wrote down on a piece of paper "NCPD Event # 190532352". Personally I find it unbelievable how this business/Marina conducts business especially with someone who has been a loyal customer of the marina for over 20 years. They leave me no choice but to take them to court. Unbelievable. Keep in mind, I live on the water, I am on the truck and I have a JetSki trailer. If I would've known that I would be charge for leaving it there I would've picked it up the 1st day. read more

They are horrible people. They will not own up to malfunctions and will charge you for looking into new yamaha jetski under warranty. They take no responsibility of any faulty equipment and products. They will charge you for paperwork on a warranty that they will not repair. Don't trust them. Yamaha and this dealer do not take responsibility. They are shady dealers. After 14 years of keeping our boat at Whaleneck Marina our slip was given away to someone else without an explanation. Even though the office help takes the brunt of complaints that does not excuse the poorly run new organizations lack of professionalism. I would never recommend the marina to any future boaters. HORRIBLE experience dealing with Patty, after being a multi-year customer. I had personal issues and unfortunately wasnt going to be around to use my Waverunner over the summer, and had a verbal agreement with the prior staff that I could leave it on the trailer, and they would just add some money to this year's winter storage bill. (Keep in mind last year's winter storage was $500 for 8 months) Called multiple times over the summer, with no response to voicemail. I get a call from the new manager Patty in September, telling me I owe them over $2200 for the 4 months my trailer and Waverunner sat in the yard. Tried explaining the situation, and she just kept insisting that I owed them that money and I had to pay or they wouldnt release my equipment and file a lien. She then sent me another bill for $10,000+ claiming they were charging me $295 per day. We finally agreed to settle for $2200, but I told her I wasn't going to be able to come for a week because I was out of state and couldnt get someone to pick it up for me, and she emailed me back that "I dont make the rules and that the $2200 settlement was no longer on the table" lol. I went yesterday, and thankfully she had the day off, and dealt with Zach who was a gentleman. I still can't believe I paid $2200 for basically 4 months of my ski sitting on my trailer, (A SUMMER SLIP IS $1500) but I just wanted to get my stuff and be done with the situation. Needless to say, thanks to Patty I will not be coming back here and recommend anyone else to stay far away as she's an absolute nutjob! read more

Whaleneck Marina is a terrible place to do business. I went there to get my Ski evaluated, it was a real beast to start. I also wanted to convert it to an oil/gas mix. They charged me $250. For the evaluation, which was fine. They gave me the estimate and I thought it to be too high and I wanted to think about it. When I went to pick it up they had take the engine completely apart-gutted. They refused to put it back together unless I pay them another $250.00!!!!! WHAT. How can they do that what am I supposed to do with a dismantled Ski. They robbed me!!! I refused to pay for them to put it back together out of principle. When I went to pay the horrible woman refused to take a check, a credit card, even cash. I had to go and get a bank check. Never go there unless you like to gamble. Check the better business reports, they have a ton of complaints. I wish I had! read more

I purchased my third new Yamaha waverunner through Whaleneck and had a dispute over an extended warranty resulting from errors made by the Whaleneck sales staff. They refused to honor the extended warranty, or to go to bat for me with Yamaha, despite the fact that I had a written receipt for the extended warranty. They never returned phone calls throughout the entire process. You would think they would value a repeat customer who had spent over $35000 with them more than the $400 value of an extended warranty. NO ONE - not the marina owner nor anyone in the front office staff - had any interest whatsoever in keeping their customer (me) happy. I eventually fought it out with Yamaha directly (an ordeal in itself) and got my extended warranty. read more
