Because the shop backs onto the collage they do have most course work books or again they will obtain them for you within a few days. The store didnt follow the new, updated layout which has been rolled across many Waterstones stores lately so the store didn't have that beautifully excellent contrast of old and new which are usually my favourite parts about Waterstones store. Again, with no staff members on the shop floor and only at the checkouts, especially for a book-store where you should be able to find staff and talk to them perhaps about recommendations, it's a shame this was virtually impossible without holding a queue up of people who already have a book and want to pay etc. They did have some comments from staff members underneath big name and popular books, but not to the extent of other stores - again this was nice to see. A store which surely does need a refurb as it has been left behind compared to other Waterstones branches with the selection being OK at best - despite low staffing levels this store does remain a nice brand to have in Warrington so the brand being here does benefit the city, although this is far from one of the better stores the brand has. 2*

However, I am going to give it 5 stars because it was the only shop in Widnes that sold cassette-based games for the Commodore C16 Plus4 computer. A computer so rare, that nobody else had one. As well as the issue with mobile phones - which I've explained in detail in the review for the Brighton store, this store as a HUGE selection of pre-owned goods to the point it becomes more like an exchange store, similar to CeX so the selection of new products seemed to be quite rare in the store - the products that were "new" were really expensive too - much more expensive than giants Amazon and other retailers - now considering Game is the major player in their industry with no other store which is similar surviving, you'd expect there to be some decent deals other than on the pre-owned games - are they seriously trying to go down the CeX model? The staff also seemed disinterested - there were two staff members working which was good however they might as well have not been there at all with staff just sat there on their phones and ignoring customers who come into the store. Dreadful selection and pricing of "new" games compared to any other high street or online retailers and staff who don't care - this store sadly sums up the decline of GAME throughout the years - and by the sound of things, they better get their act together quick. 1*

In the past I have taken defective software back and what a reception I got, totally unhelpful, no consideration for the customer they even went further, made snide comments and the manager even licked his tie and rubbed a game disc presumably to check if I had brought him back a pirated disc, and he could get the ink to run, he did this in my presence. Shocking service from totally unprofessional staff. The store seems ok until you have a problem with your purchase. There are plenty of good computer stores in Warrington, use them!
