I went and bought the 20 ribeyes for $40 that 97 Rock advertised at trailer supply in Lockport and was disappointed. They were only about a quarter inch thick and I was talked in to buying other meat and ended up spending $450. So far the only thing that was good in the box was the hamburgers. The T-bones looked good. I haven't tried them yet but everything else was terrible. read more

Anita West, Song Intros I am sure there are many listeners out there that like hearing the into to the songs being played. Unfortunately West will talk all the way through the whole intro ruining the song. Why can't she just play it. If she wants to talk that much do it before starting it. Or go to another show where all they do is talk. read more

It's disappointing in 2021 to hear hate speech played on the radio yet the unedited version of "Money for nothing" was played where derogatory homophobic language is repeated several times. Most people have the decency to play the version where that word is edited out but 97 rock is aparently stuck in an area where they think it's OK to play the homophobic version. Playing the edited version isn't really a big ask. Get with the times. I understand your music's older hits but your mentality doesn't have to be from the stone ages too. read more

I grew up in Buffalo. Many of the things I remember: when channel 2 was actually CBS (before that moved to channel 4), Freddies Donuts (long before Paula was born), Parkside Candies on Main and W Oakwood (the original location, made an appearance in "The Natural") peppermint ice cream sundays at HoJo in Niagara Falls when Main street was still drivable before the subway, just to name a few, are long gone. Some are even making a return now (drivable Main Street). Like fashion, some things just cycle. When I went to college in New England I did not know that my music tastes were "fashion forward" for many. I had that Canadian music influence of course, an uncle (black sheep) who went to Woodstock, had been to jazz festivals in many places and had a brother who was in a garage band (but then who didn't in Buffalo?). But many people I went to college with had not had any of these influences, or even a radio station that played anything other than country. Starting those drives home for the Holidays, I could tell you the moment various local radio stations (including Canadian ones) would come into tune on the NYS thruway. Then I moved to NYC. And started driving home again. And I knew when the stations came into tune from Rt 17. I wanted to hear that "Buffalo Music". We are a Hard Rock Town I have been told. I can't validate that. As a total news and politics junkie, I listen to Sirius radio news and politics stations now. But in Buffalo I'm happy to hear Styx, Genesis, The Who, Queen, even some Zeppelin at times. Coming back into Buffalo every holiday, and many other weekends, meant tuning into 97-Rock to see what was playing. I still do it now that I'm back. Singing along to those old familiar songs is a part of Buffalo for me. All this being said, I thought I was the "only one". Then my brother came to visit and the first thing he did at the airport was tune the radio to 97 Rock. He basically said what I just said, coming home means those oldies, comfortable like a favorite pair of jeans. That was about 5 years ago now. Then I went to an "Expat Buffalo" gathering in NYC. Other than the Bills and Sabres, the music choices & radio stations here were covered. Hilarious. Before wings and Molson, people talked about the radio stations they missed, the music they heard in Buffalo that they never hear on the radio anywhere else. I still don't listen to the radio often, but when I do, its only in Buffalo, and often 97 Rock. So 97 Rock is "a little bit Buffalo" to me, up there with Niagara Falls, FLW structures, Olmstead Parks, more than wings, beef on weck, sponge candy, and the Erie County Fair. I agree with Keith. The same songs are played over and over again. Queen, Bon Jovi, Guns n Roses. I have listened to 97 Rock for most of my life but am sorry to say..............need a change. Variety is the spice of life and it seems that your playlist is lacking in the variety department. Perhaps the one choosing the tunes should be made aware that those few bands do have other songs as well. At least give us that. Seems we are stuck.....on a bed of roses in a Bohemian Jungle. Shock to the heart no more. You are giving radio a bad name. lalalalalalala And whatever happened to 2 for Tuesday???? Double shot??? Then again, that would mean playing 2 different tunes. read more

Used to be a decent station but all they know is the same songs over and over again. Thanks to this station I absolutely hate Pink Floyd now. They would play them same three songs every other hour. I wrote them and told them that it was getting little old. They responded with "well when your the number station you go with what works" Well lets see there is no other classic rock station in Buffalo so who are you competing with? I totally listen to 97.7 htz fm out of Canada now. It has alot more variety and they have a 800 # for US listeners read more
