"Good Morning Chicago" used to be a very nice wake up call in the morning. The cast made the program exceptional. However, Anita Padilla was replaced with Anita Blanton and the program lost a great journalist in that time slot. Anita Blanton is the Tammy Faye Baker of the WFLD makeup world. She is a good announcer but comes not even close to Anita Padilla. I can no longer watch the program when Anita Blanton. is on the air. To me, she is a total turn off. Hope you can send Ms. Blanton back to Texas and re-instate Anita Padilla so that I can once again enjoy the "Good Morning Chicago" news casts. THANK YOU. read more

I've watched the 9 pm news since I moved to Chicago. Loved Jacobson/Robinson, loved Navarro/Robinson. My main reason for reviewing? The new format SUCKS. Just SUCKS. I don't want to hear 30 minutes of analysis. I watch this for the news. Yes, someone reading off a TelePrompTer about what's going on in the world. I cant even tell you the last time they've discussed anything in the middle east. The newscast the last two weeks has been: Blago coverage, then analysis for 10 minutes. Vioence in Chicago, then analysis. Then more analysis on the analysis. Then there is usually some technical problem which used to be funny, now they just give analysis on the technical problem. I use to love fox32 news Chicago but since they brought in Mike Schneider, the show has become a stressful none sense. Mike Schneider acts as if he own the station and he over-talk the other news anchormen and interrupts their broadcasting of their point of telling the news. I stopped watching it because with him being on there; he makes it stressful to watch and listen in the morning and understand what the other anchorman have to say. OMG!!! what a narcissist that want the camera on him all the time. Their are other anchormen on the show other than you that has news to broadcast you know. I use to love and view fox 32 news every morning but since John Schneider came aboard, it has been totally frustrating to watch. He over-talk all the other anchorman and his acts as if he own the station. Others c ant talk or discuss without he interrupting them; just totally rude and disrespectful. I just stop watching the channel 32 news and started watch WGN for news and coverage. I don't need to watch news and the anchorman is stressing me out more than the news itself. read more

This is my first of what will be many reviews of local weather reports on TV around the country. I start with FOX because it had been my favorite newscast in Chicago. While I do not care for any of the personalities on WGN TV, their weather reports are the "best" locally? Why? They are the only ones to consistently mention, or at least show, a weather map of the entire country. MEMO TO FOX: your viewers may have homes in more than just the Chicago area. They may own businesses elsewhere. Have family or friends on either coast. They may be travelling there in the next day or so. Or they just might be curious. If it weren't for so much corporate power, this station would have continued to be a Chicago institution. This review is from someone born in 1987! I wish I was old enough to see more of WFLD before FOX ruined it. At least, I was around for the classic FOX era. After watching clip after clip on Fuzzy Memories (Rick Klein's fan site), don't you get such a depressing feeling when you even try to watch a second of 32 these days? The station is so watered down and retarded. It never had to be like this. WFLD could have resisted and stuck to its guns as a station that aired intriguing and truly entertaining programming. No more classic shows. No more cartoons. Everything is news, infomercials, reality, courtroom junk, and talk shows. Their news coverage will never (even today) be as good as WGN. I miss watching Small Wonder, Family Ties, The Cosby Show, I Love Lucy, etc. on weekdays. Also, no Saturday afternoon or Sunday movies after the late-90s either. I have a few on tape. Rarely, if ever does that happen now. Does anyone remember when they aired Happy Days (unedited), Too Close For Comfort, Check It Out, and Three's Company? Nothing like watching those timeless, charming shows when you're off of work or out of school. No sexual promiscuity, sluttiness, materalism, etc. I learned more as a child from watching I Love Lucy than off any of their post-2000 material. FOX slowly ruined and destroyed WFLD slowly until 2002, when FOX Kids was over. It was still fabulous in the late 80s and early 90s with 90210, Power Rangers, The Simpsons, etc. After 1996 when it became FOX Chicago, it really started to proceed even further downhill at a gradually faster rate. In 2000, no classic shows were left (except for M*A*S*H and A Different World). FOX Kids really lost serious steam, compared to just five years earlier in the year 1995. The point is, WFLD is living, breathing proof that nasty corporations like News Corporation can get destroy and manipulate stations like WFLD. Like Rita Repulsa, they can turn them into shells of their former selves. I hate American Idol (the show that killed American society and spawned clones like Dancing With The Stars) with an overwhelming passion. What other station had hilarious comedy and action in one?
