One of the sons is an amazing glass blower as well, with some gorgeous pieces for sale in the store. After a bad experience at a different shop nearby (which will remain unnamed in this review), I decided to check this spot out, & I couldn't be more glad that I did. The hubby and I are in town from Cali and I left my THC vape at home (I didn't wanna fly with it) and we attempted to hit up the dispensary 'Maui Grown' but they require a medical cannabis card, which neither of us had. They suggested we check out Westside Vibes (around the corner like 15 ft) and I'm glad they did. We were able to pick up a little disposable hybrid vape pen to last me a few days here and the guys there were incredibly helpful. Definitely coming back when we're back in town. EDIT : harassment from employee at this store My boyfriend and I are locals and we came to Westside Vibes excited to spend our money on some awesome CBD oils and bath bombs (we usually come here) . Unfortunately , the employee working there (I believe the owners son) was so rude to us :( He was on his phone the ENTIRE TIME we were there. I wanted to ask him more questions about options on CBD products they have but he was too busy texting on his phone. Even when I asked him for 2 CBD bathbombs he stopped and was on his phone for like 40 seconds before he got the bathbombs. He did not release his phone from his hand, even when he was ringing us up he was STILL looking on his phone. Cmon dude , show some aloha . Lance Baker the worker at Westside Vibes read this review knowing it was about him and he personally messaged me on yelp harassing me and also harassing me on Facebook . He claims I make fake reviews on local businesses and bash them just for fun. However, my family owns a local business in the heart of Lahaina so to make accusations about me like that is extremely false. Totally unprofessional. This island is very small and unfortunately he chose the wrong woman to harass . I hope no one ever experiences Lance Baker, clearly he can't take any criticism on yelp. He claimed he wasn't on his phone but I bet you if you have a security camera and you look through the footage you will see him on his phone the good majority of our time at the shop , including the time I was trying to pay for the products. My main issue is that Lance Baker took the time to find me on Facebook and yelp and harass me and tried to get his friends to gang up on me , little did he know some of his fb friends are friends with me on island. On 5/15 I visited Westside Vibes for a vaporizer for use with medical marijuana. The salesman introduced himself as "Max" and other person in the shop as "my partner Les". Since I do not smoke, I explained that I did not want to put the prescription oil on a hot coil but use it in tube on the burner as recommended by the State Medical Marijuana Dispensary. Max understood immediately what I wanted. He quickly showed me how the $95 vaporizer could be adapted to that use and sold me the parts to do so. I took my $128 in purchases home and charged the unit. It did not work. I returned to the store to exchange the nonfunctional device and encountered an incredibly unpleasant man named Johnny, who stated he was co-owner of the business and the uncle of Max. (I had obviously misunderstood when Max referred to Les as his "partner": he did not mean they were 'business' partners & co-owners.) Johnny rudely informed me that they took no returns - "Period" - and that it was printed on the receipt and that Max had no authority to make adaptations to a device. I was late for an appointment, it did NOT say that on my receipt, and I was asking for an exchange, not a refund: I left to return with my husband (a retail executive), hopefully when Max was present. Today I returned and encountered "Lance". He was clearly familiar with the situation and accused me of having been back "repeatedly". - Once is "repeatedly"? Clearly these folks really don't want to see anything but your money and there's a BOLO out if they think there's going to be an attempt to get reasonable customer service or so much as an exchange for defective merchandise! - Lance repeated the mantra: 1. "We don't take returns". (Or exchanges? I was not offered one. ) 2. Max had no business telling me about an alternative way to use the device or making a modification and then - imagine this for justification! - 3. "We've told him not to do that again" (Fat lot of good that does ME and my $111 worth, or defective purchase!) 4. He again insisted that the receipt clearly states no returns. It does not. The receipt states: "No returns on "Detox, Scales, Tobacco, or Sales Items". Here's their argument: "Since we don't sell tobacco, that MEANS tobacco-related PRODUCTS". Actually it does not. It MEANS what it SAYS! And, if you are an honest business, you take exchanges on nonfunctional merchandise in any case AND you cover mistakes made by your employees no matter what. It's what honest businesses do. Regarding, WV's response to this review, several issues are apparent: -You haven't a clue who I am, which customer, or my age. (I guess I'm a "senior"...if you're 18!) -You do not recall that I returned to your establishment with the original bag, box, receipt, and ALL original parts. - NO offer of help was given. I was essentially told to "Get out", However, you DID admit that nephew - Max had modified the original vaporizer which rendered it inoperable, that - "He had no authority to do that" and -"We told him not to do that anymore" Whatever the return policy, an honest and honorable establishment stands behind their merchandise and the errors of their employees. Interestingly, I found not one shop, but two that not only differed from your attitude on return of defective vaporizers, but were horrified by your behavior. - One stated, "We take no returns either, but we value our customers and certainly back our products. If they don't work, we will exchange them for one that does." - The other, after looking at the device I was sold by Max stated, "Even before he screwed around with this, it would never have done what you bought it for! It's a WAX BURNER!" Nice. So, who is wrong here? The customer who came to the "experts" and was sold the wrong device for the purpose after explaining what she needed? Then had that device "modified" by an "unauthorized" clerk who was then merely "told not to do that anymore"? And just bad luck for the customer who went home with $128 in useless merchandise? I don't think so. Fortunately, for you, your sorry little shop is in West Maui, the heart of the tourist area, and you get the once and done trade. Your multiple factual source errors are telling, "Charity", and reveal exactly what kind of effort you put into customer service. read more

This is a smoker's haven. Ton's of Rastifarian fare. Had to subtract a star for the fact that they were closed in the middle of the day when they were supposed to be open. I'm not sure if the employee was taking a potty break or if they just didn't put a sign up that they were closing for because of the holiday. They are pretty well stocked as far as clothing goes and there is a plethora of pipes/papers/do-dads. The store is large and there are dressing rooms which was a plus. They have more than just tobacco products, they have tons of awesome clothes, bikinis, stickers galore, and GREAT INCENSE. Lance told me about the rewards program they utilize and I have saved $50 in my 3 months going already! They really have a lot of aloha and aren't all about the money like other shops. These guys are a family and you can feel it with every visit. Lots of stuff in the shop but not cluttered. You could spend the whole day in there and never get bored. I was in Maui and needed a new battery for my vape pen. Westside Vibes was the nearest smoke shop so I headed over there. When I walked in, I was completely ignored by the two employees working there who were engaged in their own conversation. I looked around and then finally asked one of them if they had a battery for my vape pen. I was told that they only carry one kind and handed a small box with an Ooze battery in it. The lack of options was disappointing. The one and only type of battery they had was an outdated model and extremely over priced. Because desperate times call for desperate measures I went ahead and purchased it. I suppose I should not have been surprised when the battery only worked once. I tried everything to fix it, but it is simply is the only option and a poorly made product sold at Westside vibes and marked way up in price. I do not recommend Westside vibes. Spent over $70 and the guy that was helping us became very rude towards the end. I asked to see if I could smell the juice for my sourin and he said no so I put it back on the counter and asked to see another juice. I filled my vape pod in the store with my juice I had before, (every other smoke shop you can) and when he told me that was not allowed he gave me ONE second to react before he came back with an even more ruder comments. If you have so many rulez you need to make a notice before walking in. Let alone.... They sold to a minor. Was not very helpful with our questions and would give two worded answers. This place is great! We like to collect local glass pieces from every state we visit, and yelp guided us to Westside Vibes on our Hawaiian search. Charity showed us the extensive collection of blown pipes from 5 or 6 different local artists (by far the widest local selection we found!), and we found an awesome piece to add to our collection. There is also a 10% off coupon when you check in through yelp! Charity was very personable, awesome to talk with, and extremely knowledgeable about the pieces and the island (she threw us a couple great recommendations of places to go/things to do that aren't super touristy). I visited this shop almost 5 years ago when I was in Maui. I loved the mouth piece on a friends piece of glass and had to have one. Tragically, it was broken at a Red Rocks show during a torrential down pour and I just had to order another one. After finding them on the web, Charity helped me out and sent me pictures of all of their Sherlock Holmes pieces that she thought I may appreciate. After picking out an amazing yellow and turquoise piece, she sent me the tracking number to have it shipped to my door in Colorado. Now that is service!!!
