I wouldn't bring these incompetent people a PET ROCK to treat…read more Our geriatric bulldog has had a hematoma on his ear for 2 months. The treatment plan from these 'vets' is a bunch of prescriptions that are priced exorbitantly. Now the hematoma is spreading down his ear canal as well as to his other ear. When I took him for his follow up, I was told I was there at the wrong time and would be an EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT or I could come back in 40 minutes. How many ways will these people try to extract maximum dollars?? If they had lanced it, drained it & stitched it with a drain, he would be in much less pain, but we would not have had to return for multiple visits. Never have I gotten out of this office for less than $500. Too many veterinarian offices are NO LONGER trying to help animals. They are too focused on HOW MUCH THEY CAN GET for the service, as opposed to WHAT THE SERVICE IS WORTH!!

Because he receives his routine care at the SPCA, they do not handle emergency visits. I called around to several vet's in the area and the only one who could get him in same day was Magazine St Animal Clinic. Carson answered the phone and very professional, courteous, and friendly. I felt at ease at once. Arrangements were made to drop Aladdin off that same morning and go pick him up later. Carson would "work him in the schedule". I received phone calls when they first looked at him, asking me thorough questions about his health and care received up to now. I also received a call afterwards from the Veterinarian, discussing care and the treatment plan. I received the last call when it was time to pick him up. I was very satisfied with the entire visit from the initial phone call to paying the bill. Aladdin was taken care of superbly, and with love and kindness. I was even complimented on how sweet of a dog he is, and I couldn't agree more! (He really is a good dog) Thank you staff. Hopefully we won't have any more emergency situations, but if I do, I know where to go.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE, TERRIBLE BED SIDE MANNER!!…read more My cat was attacked by a dog. We brought her to our vet on the westbank but she could not do any x-rays in house and suggested Avenue Animals. We immediately rushed our kitty there and checked her in. We were told we would have to pay $125 upfront. The receptionist was very helpful, that's about the only person. Someone, I am assuming "messenger", came to bring our cat to the back asked if we gave her any medicine. My dad did give her a low dose a aspirin. (which he was just trying to keep her calm and relieve any pain for her as he was the only one home with only a motorcycle and had to wait 30 minutes for my mom to drive home from work to bring her safely to the vet) after reading more online he realized you aren't supposed to do that. Obviously we told them exactly what we gave her. The "messenger" had our cat in her hands (inside a carrier) and immediately turned around and raised her voice and said "oh we do not do that". my dad was already heart broken as he watched our family cat be attacked by a dog in our front yard. I immediately said "yes we know that now, he was trying to do anything to take care of her." Now my already in distress father was sitting there with the rest of us waiting feeling worse because this girl who didn't even know what milligram a low dose aspirin was essentially fussed at him when her main focus should've been immediately tending to our cat. She was ready to argue with us rather than tend to our suffering cats needs. As we finished up the signing in process the front desk receptionist asked how we were paying I was going to pay $125 in cash for my parents and she says $350. I only had so much cash my mom pulled out her credit card and just charged her credit card to upset to even argue it. The receptionist apologized over and over again for her coworker's behavior and for what was happening. We were put into a room waited a while and finally the vet comes and shows us the x rays explains we may be looking at surgery she says she's going to get us an estimate and come back. The "messenger" comes back with an iPad naming off all the things they will need to do, seemed like she had never had to deliver any type of stressful news to anyone a day in her life which is odd in this line of work. She's going back and forth sounded like she was unsure and then gave us a grand total of $1,700 (on top of the $350 already paid) my parents faces dropped, they were devastated. They simply could not afford any of this. This was the price without even having any idea on surgery price. My parents asked if we could just take her home because we couldn't afford any more care. They brought our cat out and as we were walking out the door the "messenger" again comes out and asks if we want any medicine or antibiotics and we declined because we were bringing our cat back to our vet and going to have to make some hard decisions. On our chart in the notes they put in a hurry to leave did not want anything to help treat our cat at home. As if we just you know decided to step away and leave just because we don't care our cat is suffering. NO, WE CANNOT AFFORD ANY OF YOUR SERVICES. The vet never came back out after we asked to take our cat back and gave us any advice or tips to keep her comfortable or anything. All these people do is try to make you feel like shitty animal parents when you have to just make do with what you have. I'm so glad these people have never had to feel the true financial struggle in this economy and pray they never do because it will hit them like a ton of bricks if they think it's just so easy to fork out $2,000. That's the end of my ted talk, just such a shame the lack of human decency.

But after being last to be called in even though its not appointment wtf ever they all had Clearly been there weekly but didnt care I waited patiently and they finally got us in a room ,and in storms the older lady kinda heavy set shoulder length hair ,very wrinkled face ,for real the most ill mannerd lady talking down to me immediately and never greated the dog just stormed in and bad stares at me while describing his ailment, well reaches down in a very fast motion grabbed and with a twist best thing I didnt realize I had hit record on my phone ,and no lie twisted his ear that had a blown ear drum ,and I said it on the video hey don't twist his ear and immediately said he had to be muzzled ,after rushing into him and twisting his ear I said woh no hey ill muzzle him but ghe twists of his ear isn't cool . The tech brought the muzzle in and I put it on him and she grabbed the light thing to look in his ear and twisted it again to look down inside he pulled away yelped and I stood up pissed as hell and she says he's going to have to be sedated for her to flush his ear out ,I said fuck no he's not ,you didnt greet him call him by his name you twist his ear orderd him muzzled and now want to put him under because you twisted his ear ghe second time ,I said hell no I watched you do that im fucking leaving . Sorry about my language but I said that and she stormed out .only to walk right back in because I said im going to another vet because she's not touching him ever again ,well she is less mean and says im going to prescribe a wash to flush his ear out and some steroid and pain pills for him ,I got the hell out so I could pay I wasn't going to run out without paying for that so called vet ,and I got the meds and then someone called the girl over in the back and she asked for my bottles back, I handed them back and the creepy wrinkled heavey set lady's name isn't on his bottles .im still going tomorrow morning for a real vets appointment so I make sure what is what ,but to get him to almost nip her and looking back and listening to the video i clearly said hey wow what are you doing twisting his ear lady I said it the second time as well when he was muzzled ,not greeting him rushing in the exam room would scare any animal, and they took my revue down shame on the heavy set wrinkle lady but she's not anyone you ever need to touch your animal and im going to find out just how many other non aggressive animals she's had to sedate to do anything for..bet im not the only person. ..shameful..but I think im going go ask a reporter i know how many complaints she's had against her .ill ask the state ,and they are going to take this down again I bet ..the heavy set lady is bringing that entire place down i bet ..truth and contact me and listen to it yourself..I didnt realize I hit video instead of photo ..erase my review again .heavy set wrinkle lady ..np..

I myself enjoy spending time there. More personable and more efficient than other vets we've used. This place was recommended to us by friends with an elderly cat. Time and time again, CCV staff has proved to us that they really are the best in all departments. We use CCV for everything dog related; one of my pups is reactive to a lot of things (like, a LOT), and dealing with him is a very steep learning curve. Let's start with Dr. Marisa Muniak; after our primary vet left CCV, we were switched over to her care. Instead of being apprehensive about caring for my fearful and sometimes aggressive boy and passing him off to other vets, she jumped in head first, thinking outside the box, even went so far out of her way as to bring him into the play yard for his exam and routine vaccines so he'd be more at ease. Always willing to help, she has personally called me to ease my mind about some concerns I've had for my boy's health rather than having a tech call and relay the message. I don't think anything I say about her can fully give her the credit she deserves. All the techs and support staff (like Christina, Skip, all the kennel staff, etc.) are WONDERFUL and go out of their way to make sure I know that my pups are doing well in their care. Speaking of Kennel, Jamani (Kennel manager) is the BEST. My usually fearful, reactive baby wiggles his whole body in excitement every time he sees Jamani, and I think that reaction speaks for itself. We have had a few hiccups with my dog at boarding with CCV, and each time, Jamani went out of his way to make sure he learned something about how to best deal with him and his... quirks. The front desk staff, especially Bri, Amity, and Jarrell, are always a joy to talk with. When I have concerns, no matter how small they are, I know I can always call the front desk and they'll never make me feel dumb for asking even the smallest, most minute questions. All in all, we love CCV for all things pets! Definitely would recommend!
