Egret Park - Beautiful park

A few picnic tables & bbq pits too. A nice walking path runs through the park area. I noticed a previous review stating there was not a playground. This is true however this is a park- all parks don't require playgrounds to have fun.

Egret Park is one of the neighborhood parks in the Westlake part of Natomas. This park is operated…read moreby the City of Sacramento, but is surrounded by the private neighborhoods. Access is open to everyone, but there is no parking lot. Although I have yet to see any Egrets here, I often see people walking their dogs and husbands on a regular basis. This park is really more of a long green space without much actual park amenities. There is a nice community rose garden with a few picnic tables next to the lake which is nice. Someone put in a volleyball net too, and there is a large field near Westlake Parkway that is often used for casual soccer and baseball games. The main attraction is the long and winding walking path. It meanders through the grass and young trees with a view into the open backyards of the neighborhood. Round trip is about a mile which is perfect for most. The back end now connects to the new school and open hay fields. The city also has water and waste bins for the pets to help keep things clean. Although it lacks most of the true park amenities, Egret Park is a nice and relaxing place to get your steps or hang out. Nothing special, but it is special to those in the area.

North Natomas COMMUNITY Park is near Club Center Dr right off Crest Dr and Cagney Way. Address is 1839 North Bend Dr. According to the City of Sacramento's website, this park is over 39 acres big and has 2 baseball fields, a bike trail, 2 kids playgrounds with sand areas, 2 lighted tennis courts, lots of open grass fields for free play (bring your own sports equipment), a natural area, 2 gazebos/covered shaded areas with over 6 tables in each area, 4 soccer fields, 4 volleyball courts, and 1 set of bathrooms. In short, this park has everything you need and more. Our kids had great fun celebrating their friend's birthday with other friends and they even had relay games, a pinata, and of course they played soccer since these boys love soccer. North Natomas Community Park is a nice neighborhood park that's bigger than the typical kids playground parks, as it's got a lot more here, but it's still not too big where it'd be hard to find your party without a pin drop on a map. All in all, this is a good park that's big, but not crazy huge and it's easier to find and more cozy for a smaller gathering of 15-30 people vs the regional park is probably more for community events for all of Natomas, but we've also been there and that one is very nice too. One star taken off as the bathroom was not in good shape and the wife says it wouldn't flush and only 1 of the 2 gender free bathrooms was even opened.

There is a lot going on at the park. I like to duck pond/lake a lot. Very well maintained park.read more

Review #087 - 2020…read more While trying to find a local park to have a quick picnic lunch, I came across this little hidden gem. We showed up at around 6 PM on Friday, May 8th. There were a few people out sitting on the grass, walking, pushing their kids in a stroller, riding their kids, etc., so we decided to grab our take out boxes and made ourselves comfortable. I was under the impression that Sacramento was no longer under lockdown that's why there were so many people out & about. However, we saw some posted signs later stating that the park was closed due to COVID-19. My bad for not paying close enough attention. However, in the half an hour that we were able to enjoy our late lunch, there park appeared very clean & well kept. There are two separate kids's playgrounds, two sets of swings, a basketball court, a tennis court and a large open field for kids to just run around. We didn't walk around the whole park so I couldn't tell how big it really was. There were a few picnic tables here and there, but there's also a covered seating/eating area where you can watch your kids play. There were plenty of free street parking available, which is always nice. I didn't see if there was a restroom nearby though. Overall, it's a very nice park.

There are options for park equipment for them to play on, and plenty of park benches for the oldies used to hang out on. This is actually one of my favorite parks to take the littles to, and have afternoon fun and run, and a picnic lunch during the weekend. Burberry is kept clean, and there is limited street parking. Fun park and a great place to enjoy the outdoors!

Review #088 - 2020…read more While we were heading over to Burberry Park to eat our late lunch, we happened to drive by here and my brother says, "we can come back here and take more pictures after we finish eating." My brother doesn't go out much, but the fact that he wanted to come out with me and his kids is mainly because he wanted to test out his new camera--so I was more than happy to bring him back to get some shots. I'm more of a simple click & shoot type of person so my iPhone X works perfectly fine. I don't enjoy lugging a big camera with me especially since I have a 4-year old who runs all over the place. A camera would just add to my responsibility & I am not ok with unnecessary baggage. We showed at around 6:45 PM on Friday, May 8th, and there were a lot of people out jogging, walking, feeding the ducks & geese, and some who even brought their blow up tubes to go into the water. The park is very nice, clean and open. The water seems clean as it didn't have any stench like the Lake Merritt Park in Oakland. I know, I shouldn't compare, but my brother brought it up. We didn't spend too much time here since it was getting late and I wanted to get back home at a reasonable time being that I had to drop everyone off before heading back to my house. Awesome spot to just hang out & do some exercise or people watch. I got some pretty nice pictures for my Yelp review, and that's pretty important!

Caution if visiting on a Saturday morning to be mindful that parking gets full between the farmers market and the aquatic center. Loved seeing the ducks and waterfalls during my walk. Mix of families, friends, couples and kids walking with few bikes and everyone was really friendly, as I did ask questions here and there being new to the park. Plan to return with my girlfriends for a friends walk.
