Amazing job Mel. Thank you for such a flawless job on my husband. We were really impressed by how much time and detail he took.

Attn All Hands:…read more Where to begin with this place.... Well I'll start with how it began. Once upon a time back in Oct of 2009... My wife and I moved to Yucca Valley, since we were "Adults" and not some of these teenage newly weds, and this was there 1st "real" job. They all believed the horror stories of living 30 mi from base, some never herd of a commute . Well the only draw back to living here was it was hard for a Marine to find a GOOD & QUICK place to get a fade. After traveling high and low, I came across this place. But... It was not called Semper cuts yet. It was just a typical, run of the mill haircut/beauty salon establishment. It was ran by these two Mexicana's that only one of then knew how to do a good fade. The other one could never get a straight line. Well until my 1st deployment, I would come here every Sunday morning as it would open. It was a really In n' Out and I had no complaints for the longest time just sometimes there would be a horrendous wait. Let fast forward... It's Nov 2010 I have been back from OEF10 and once again I refuse to live in 29 palms. I was getting haircuts in Afghanistan by people who spoke no English, it was OK they did good fades. But the wait was terrible though. Anyways It's still a little beauty shop and nothing really changed about it except there were different people running it. Well I took 30 days of leave and didn't get a haircut for a month... Yeah I'm a turd. Well when I walk in something of unimaginable horror had become of the place. There where "moto" pictures, the flag was hanging up and that dreadful sign "Semper Cuts" I walk in... I think what they did to the place was wonderful, black and red paint, a change of atmosphere and they brought a T.V in. From my understanding some SSgt. owns the place you can tell as you walk in, you'll see pictures of him in blue's and his family from a LCpl. all the way to SSgt. I think that's cool if it were my house but I know it's not he lived down the street from me. He has the advertisement on his car. All in all I'm thinking ok we got a Marine in there now maybe he'll bring that 2-9 speed to this shop. Wrong! One thing they could never fix was the quickness of service that they have in 29. In 29 you walk in and they're practically trying to buzz your head as you walk in. They know we hate haircuts, and spending money so they're quick about it. Less time to dwell on it and more time to dwell on why are we stationed here? My gripe... Well aside from the one lady that always seemed to work there. They could never have a second person fill in a chair. It was always some random stranger you could never build a friendly basis with. So if you thought about going mid day forget, a hair cut on leatherneck was faster on a Sunday afternoon. So there I was, waiting for my haircut. I'm called over by who I think was the owner's wife, she looked like the woman in the pictures. So I say OK, I'll give a shot. After 45 min of straight failure and destruction I got something that looked like my 1st haircut. I look at it this "fade" it is so uneven, a drunk marine on a Sunday night could've done a better job! I was so angry, I wanted my money back. Well after looking at it I just felt sorry for her, she was trying to help. So I paid. Got in the car and drove 30mi to 29. Marine's don't let that woman cut you hair. Wife of a SNCO or not no Marine needs to have his money wasted like that. I ended up never going there again. I haven't been there since June of 2011 and i never plan on going back. From all the time i went there I never saw "regular" customers either. Maybe this guy isn't paying good enough or there just no good barber's in the area? What ever the case may be don't go here. I think Great Clips is a spot where Marines go? I don't know. Just don't come here.
