The day of the surgery they called me while she was cut open on the table to tell me that she was pregnant, that they couldn't save the kittens because they would be brain dead due to the anesethia, and that they needed my authorization to abort the kittens. I took my dog there and they put cotton swabs on the floor before using them to clean his ears. The vet also intentionally scraped the inside of his ear with the talon she called a finger nail to remove some wax, and cut his ear. I would not recommend this vet for any kind of pet.

We took all our animals there since we moved here 10 years ago. All 4. But you can tell they are different the last couple of years. If they can bill you for oodles of tests, a surgery, x-rays... It's all good. Good for the corporate bottom line. But if your pet only needs to be put down there apparently is no money for them and certainly no compassion for your pet in that. Just a terrible unfortunate circumstance you think? NOPE. They did the same thing when our 17 year old cat needed to be put down this past May of 2021. I think that is heartless and cruel. We live 5 minutes from there. They told us BOTH times to go to Mosinee. So don't expect a darn thing from them at the hardest time in your beloved pets' lives. Ella says... Thanks VCA for the 25 minute trip to Mosinee on her last day. Peachy said thanks for your compassion too. If I could give negative stars ... I would. Will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN NOR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.

I read Dr. Chris' description of this clinic and would have agreed with him several years ago…read more Since Dr. Chris' retirement and the subsequent new ownership, very little of this is true. I have had difficulty getting appointments for my pets. They send me reminders for yearly exams, and when I promptly respond I'm told that they are totally booked until a month or more after they are supposed to be seen. This is the case more often than not. In my opinion, they care more about profits than the care of their patients. They have a very limited number of vets working on a daily basis, yet they keep taking new patients. I recently had a dog that was to undergo surgery. I took her into the clinic for her pre surgery evaluation on a Wednesday, and I was told she would be able to handle the procedure. Immediately after that appointment she began showing signs of labored breathing. The vet was made aware of the condition and told me to take my dog off of the medication that had been prescribed and check back with her on Monday. My dog had to be put down by another vet at the clinic on that Monday, because the original vet wasn't working. It's been nearly two weeks since she died, and I still haven't heard from the original vet. Needless to say, I have lots of unanswered questions.

The other vet offered a confusing array of options and was unsure if I was dealing w a food/ or environmental allergy. Years back I had another issue w/ a Frenchie. I was terrified. Dr Paul was just as kind, calm and precise. That issue was vertigo. He diagnosed and treated it in one visit. I left KVC because of their location. However, I trust their experience and knowledge. I suspect I will be returning there for the rest of my veterinary needs. The knowledge and experience is worth the drive. I hope neither Doc ever retires.

This does…read morenot come from the care they provided to the animals but the cost of that care and their lack of consideration for their owners. I should have learned from my first experience with them but I did not. That bout cost me over $900 and they could not find a single thing wrong with my cat. I authorized $250 in charges and they took it upon themselves to run additional tests that I did not have the money for and required payment on the spot. So after feeling totally violated and screwed over I called back to dispute the charges and was blown off and told that there really wasn??t anything they could do since the tests were already complete. Unfortunately the next experience I faced with them was out of desperation as I could not get into my reputable vet. My other cat had an issue so I decided to take her there. They said the first thing they needed to do was to check the anal glands. I was there during this attempt and the vet struggled with the cat and I don??t think he ever accomplished what he attempted to do because the cat was struggling so much. He mentioned that everything was fine and recommended a blood and urine test to check for issues or infection. These came back negative so he advised me to have them give her an antibiotic shot and she would be ??fine?. What do I know, I said ok! Well now I waited a moment for the assistant to come back and I overheard the vet and somebody talking about my bill through the wall and they went down the list. When they got to the anal gland part, the vet was very indecisive as I believe he knew he didn??t effectively check the glands. The lady just said ??well, we will charge him for it anyway?. Upon being presented with a $360+ dollar invoice with no definitive solution I requested to talk to the vet. He came out and I questioned the anal gland fee and he said ??well?. I checked them and?.. they were fine? again, very indecisive. I asked if they were expressed which I believe is what I was charged for and he said there was no need. I paid the bill and left very upset. The cat??s symptoms never changed so I made an appointment with my regular ??honest? vet 7 days later. Within 2 minutes of being there he said ??well, I know exactly what is wrong, her anal gland is 4 times the size it should be and it is as hard as a rock.? The cat needed to be sedated to fix the problem so the procedure was schedule the following day. We were then told that the antibiotic that was administered was not the correct one for that type of infection. Once again that violated feeling took over. The next day came and went we went to pick up our cat and waited for the invoice. This invoice was for 2 separate appointments, anesthesia, the procedure, an anti-inflammatory shot and the correct antibiotic shot. I was pleasantly surprised when the bill came to $116. Mosinee Veterinary Clinic charged me over 3 times that price and accomplished nothing more than upsetting a very connected customer who will gladly spread the word about their crooked practice.
