It seems like a small holding center for undeliverable items to all the secured condo buildings in the neighborhood. Regardless, the staff is very friendly. There is a large parking lot next to the building which makes it very convenient if you are sending a large package.

It indicated that it was mailed from Gatineau on July 16. I estimated it would take about three business days to arrive, so I expected it by Monday. However, I still hadn't received it by Wednesday, July 23, and thought that was relatively slow. Last night, I decided to check online for an update on my passport and discovered it had been returned to Purolator on July 18 at 8:42 PM. Purolator had attempted to deliver it earlier that day at 10:20 AM, but they didn't send a text, a phone call or leave a notice to indicate that they had come by. I rushed over the next morning to pick it up before they would return it to the sender. Now, I know not to rely on a notice or message that they came by, but I'm supposed to check online every day to see if it was delivered, and those who don't have the Internet are in big trouble.

The notice indicated that the envelope would be held for 5 days and that I had to go to Lachine to pick it up. Yes Lachine! Please note that this is a 20 minute drive from my house, assuming no traffic. The return trip would be 2.5 hours if using public transportation. How's that for convenience! I can't believe that Purolator can't find a a location within the downtown area where customers could pick up a package. How about the post office located 5 minutes walk from my house (Canada Post owns Purolator) or the independent shop down the street used by UPS and other courrier companies? This really makes no sense. Oh, and to top it off the small envelope that they were delivering could have easily fit through the mail slot in my door (see related photos).
