I have been here a couple of times recently. The Dining Commons alone is reason to visit. So is the Student Bookstore. The school is top 100 in its class. Most students are from a long ways away. Most are Christian.Nearly all so. Recommended Book buy ? Survey of the New Testament by Dr. Robert Gundry. Financial Aid is available and sometimes scholarships can be garnered. Nice campus located in the hills of Montecito near Santa Barbara. Would love to own one of the mansions that surround this school but I haven't won the lottery yet. We were here for some baseball games against the mens baseball team. They cheer like a high school girls softball team so we just beat them to quiet them down. It was fun! read more

I am frustrated with the lack of communication from the employees of Westmont in the financial office. I have many questions about a $24,000+ bill they sent me from over a year after my daughter left the school. I have tried to discuss the details of the bill but now the person that finally contacted me refuses to talk with me. 24,000 is a lot of money to request after over a year and after the fact that I spoke with the financial office in 2022 and was told that I had paid the tuition for the year in full. I also must include in this review that several teachers at the school are not either professionally prepared to present the subject they teach and some are not prepared to relate to the young student population. I hope the school addresses this and other concerns so they may attract and steers their students in a Christian path by leading by example. I do pray for blessings for a good outcome for the school. This place is a terrible college I wouldn't even give it 1 star. Words can't describe the hate I hold for this school. The teachers r so old fashion some don't even put grades online. Chapel 3 times a week and all they sing is hymns and the worst songs ever written by westmont alum. This school sucks so much I'm going to school in Utah now because I want the complete opposite of westmont. It is a cult and they initiate u with bagpipes the first day. My mom wants to send me to therapy now Bc it sucked so much. read more

The Westmont campus is beautiful as well as historic. All of the representatives we encountered were very knowledgeable, friendly and good ambassadors for the college. And I was equally impressed with the students we encountered. They gave an enthusiastic clap and welcome to the prospective students as we entered the food hall. The professors we met were also very encouraging and warm. Being a private college, the campus is on the smaller side, but well appointment and seemed to have everything a student could need to be successful while attending. read more

I had the great privilege of spending four years at Westmont College as an undergraduate. That was about 25 years ago. Since then, the college has maintained and even improved its standing in the educational community. Westmont is located in Montecito. Montecito is an absolutely beautiful area populated by the rich and famous. Living on the 130+ acre campus in the Santa Barbara hills was about as idyllic as you can get. The school has updated its technology so students now enjoy cutting edge tech in gorgeous surroundings. As far as my education goes, I think Westmont prepared me to be a critical thinker in today's world. While we did not enjoy the same technological tools as today's students, I was certainly taught how to learn new things that has allowed me to adopt new technology and ideas as they come. I had a great background for grad school and eventually law school coming out of Westmont. On the education side, I have absolutely no complaints. Westmont is not for everyone. It is a Christian college that has remained true to its commitment to include Bible and theology classes in the curriculum. While Westmont does not push any particular denomination or sect, the faculty, staff, and students are mostly all committed evangelical Christians. Someone who does not share that commitment may not be very comfortable at Westmont. Westmont is also quite expensive. Financial aid is available, but financial aid likely means parent and student loans. If you are fortunate enough to have the money or willing to take on the debt, Westmont does deliver a great educational product. For me, Westmont was the right school at the right time. I would highly recommend it to someone who is looking for a small faculty to student ratio and a great educational experience. read more

I attended Westmont 25 years ago and was happy to find it has not changed! It truly is an authentic Christian college rooted in Christ. My son is now a freshman there and I'm excited he gets to experience the best Christian education around! read more

My daughter will be graduating from Westmont tomorrow. The decision for her to attend there over the other schools where she was accepted was a great one. Her growth as a Christian as well as her academic growth has been amazing. A course she took in her final semester helped her choose her future career. Westmont is a fantastic school with caring, involved professors. read more

Like so many other historical Christian schools they seem to have lost their way. Yoked to government funding (student loans, etc..) they have chosen the money path instead of sticking to their core values rooted in Christianity. Our Son is in his final semester and would rather have had him attend a Hillsdale or any secular school. For being mom and pop in size you would expect a personable experience, Not. Not sure at this point why anyone would choose Westmont unless they were getting an extremely generous financial aid package. Oh yeah, that's why they are in trouble to begin with. Academically it's a fine school but so are many others. The thing that set the school apart was the Christian aspect but with that fading good luck. read more

Beautiful campus ! But all I can say is very judgmental people/ staff. I lived very close and wanted to go home often. I got in trouble for this even though I was attending classes. I believe I am an adult and can come and go from my dorm room whenever I please. I transferred to a CSU and i love it ! read more

An amazing location for a Christian college. I neither applied here or went to school here, my experience with Westmont was when I was in high school. Some high schoolers from other Covenant churches had a weekend beach Volleyball trip to Saint Mary's College. We stayed in the dorms at Westmont college, I also wasn't really familiar with where Santa Barbara was. This school is close to the city of Goleta, and the Covenant church is very close by to the school. read more
