I was also wondering how dental offices were handling the pandemic, from scheduling to cleanliness practices. Based on the recommendation of a friend, I decided to give Design Dental a call. I'm glad I did! They made everything easy and I felt comfortable the entire time. For new patients, they split it into two visits - one to take x-rays and do a general review, and then a second to do cleaning and/or work needed. When I called they were able to get me in in a reasonable amount of time. They were limiting the number of people in the waiting room by having you call from your car to let them know you had arrived, then took your temperature once they greeted you. The hygienists who took my x-rays and looked over my teeth and gums did a good job explaining what they were doing and looking at. Dr. Schminke was amiable and also clear about the process, answering any questions I had. They were able to get me in for the follow-up cleaning the very next day, which was a pleasant surprise. During the cleaning they offered me an optional item and mentioned that it wasn't covered by insurance, so I didn't have any unexpected charges. I found everyone there to be very helpful and friendly, and the place to feel clean and well cared for.

Dr. Tu and everyone at Design Dental, were so kind to me. As a team, we came up with a plan and off we went! At the end of my treatment, I was handed a mirror. As I smiled into that mirror, there wasn't a dry eye in the room. I smiled when I walked out. I smiled when I drove home. I smiled and smiled and smiled! Dr. Tu gave me a beautiful smile. Because their machines were down on the first visit they had to schedule a follow up, though I was still charged for the first visit. Then today, two days before, they said I had to reschedule because they were having an "analytics meetin,g," I.e. not some patient problem but internal business. I offered to come on Monday or Tuesday at 5. Nope we can't do. Would you refund me the first visit. Nope we can't do, It is like playing a game of "Mother May I". In 62 years, a dentist has never, not once rescheduled, let alone for an internal business meeting. I have had dentists come in after hours for a root canal. When a judge tells me to be in court, I don't look in my schedule book, and say, gee, judge, you are going to have to reschedule. They are supposed to be PROFESSIONALS!!! NOTE: I checked with a long dentist I had in another college town. I was informed than other than patient emergencies and a dentist getting sick, they have not in their memory (which is long) rescheduled on a patient. I suspected as much. Not sure what to do now, since they won't refund the first visit.

Had an infection hit full force over the weekend, and got ahold of Hart Dentistry's after hours number. 9:00 this morning they had me in and I'm now one tooth and one massive infection less.. and so far feeling much better already! They tried to reschedule but were told they would have to check to see if they could still see her. Then they mailed a letter indicating they could no longer be a patient there. How impersonable and inflexible! Life happens, things come up. Maybe try having a policy that if you cancel you still have to pay a certain amount if it's all about your time and money? I've never heard of a place dropping you because you have to reschedule more than ONE time. Try to have some respect that life happens and sometimes people need to reschedule.

Mine happens to be Christine. Such a nice person. All the dentists here are good, I happen to have Dr Chris Haganman and one time his son Kyle did a filling for me too. Chris I consider a friend. He treats you that way. He is an awesome Dr. I trust him and his knowledge of Dentistry. Always so friendly. Thats why I originally brought my family here because of his talent. Teeth are important and you need to take good care of them. I have not always been a good patient, that was in my younger years. I would not routinely get my teeth cleaned and checked. With age comes wisdom...LOL Anyway, I can highly recommend The Dental Center. Anna, who does scheduling is very down to earth and the kindest, sweetest person too. Jones Family is convenient to the east side/ample parking and reasonably priced. The doctor I saw was very knowledgeable, thorough, helpful and personable/kind... As were the assistants and hygienists I encountered. A couple added bonus points: the layout is more like individual rooms/better privacy for your appt + I never felt like staff were rushed, so it did not have that assembly-line feel like some dental offices do.

It is bright and airy and clean, and the staff is out of this world. They seldomly keep you waiting for long, and their billing has always been prompt and correct. Like many, I have a terrible fear of the dentist based on past horrible experiences. At North Liberty Dental, they have taken the time to listen to my concerns, and work to help alleviate my anxiety by being open and honest about what they are doing, and by asking for my feedback at all times. I feel comforted by the experiences I have had at this office. I imagine they'd be great for nervous children as well.
