Kevin did a great job removing the popcorn ceilings and retexturing and repainting in our new home. We had some bumps in the road with regards to our heater going out and Kevin went above and beyond to make sure the texture was dried by babysitting a space heater in the home after hours! I just purchased a new, fixer upper home and was being attacked by the painted popcorn ceilings. I found these young men on a google search for painters who could remove popcorn ceilings. They gave me, by far, the best bid...worked around my other contractors and made me feel comfortable all through the process. They prepped the entire house from top to bottom and did a speedy and seemingly effortless job of removing the old ceiling. Then they textured and repainted the ceilings. The knockdown looks great!!! Kevin Ross also gave me the extra paint and offered to come back an touch up anything that didn't look right after everything dried. They beat the competition hands down...and are also the best deal in town. They also take direction and were very polite and accommodating. I would recommend them. This is really as good as it gets! Honest, and straight forward, Westland Acoustics came out when they said they would and finished right on time. I don't know how Westland did it, but the house is as clean as it was when they started the project. I just bought an older house with popcorn ceilings and it really wasn't the look we wanted. Overall ceiling looked good - however left a complete mess, didn't put lights, fans, vents, etc back up.. Used masking tape on finished trim so all the paint bled through - had to repaint 110 ft of crown mold. Used staples to hold up plastic on faux finished walls - left staples in everywhere, holes all across my walls... Never worked a full day - it took 4 days to do a 1.5 day job.. I'll start by saying I had high hopes for Westland Acoustics. As it happened, they let me down and they didn't even do one ounce of work in my house. Here's what happened: I contacted Westland Acoustics and spoke with Kevin Ross, the owner. I told him I was interested in getting a quote to have popcorn texture that had been painted over removed from my ceilings. We talked about my space and he gave me a quote over the phone which was extremely affordable. I asked if he would need to see the space in person to make sure that quote was accurate. He arranged for one of his colleagues to see it that evening. I met his colleague, also named Kevin, and he said he would do everything (prep, scraping, skimming, re-texturing, clean up) all for the same price Kevin, the owner, quoted me. I told him I wanted to get that in writing. Kevin, the colleague, said "ok." I gave him my email address and asked him to email me a contract with the quote. He said he would do that later in the evening. This is where everything started going down hill. Kevin, the colleague, did not email me that night. The next day I texted him asking for the quote. He said he would send it, but he did not. The next day he texted me saying my email address wasn't working. I gave him another email address to try. He said the same thing. Then, he offers to take the contract to my house. I agreed to that and asked him to leave it in the mailbox and I would pick it up that evening. He said OK. I get to my house and there's no contract. I do not text him, as it was late in the evening. He sent me a text the next day asking me when I wanted him to start the work. I replied saying I still didn't have the contract. No reply from him. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands. The next day I asked for his email address and he gave it to me. I sent him a test email and he replied saying he got it, so I sent back a tentative contract including everything he and I had discussed. After reading it, he sent me a text message saying he would draft his own contract. I said that was fine and asked him to send it to me. He said he would the next day. Two days went by and still no contract. I called Kevin Ross, the owner, again and told him what was going on. He said that seemed unusual and if the other Kevin didn't get back to me, he would do the job himself. So, I waited a little longer. Kevin, the colleague, still had not sent me the contract. I sent Kevin, the owner, a text message saying I would like for him to go ahead and do the job since his colleague was not following through on his word. He did not respond. I called him a couple of days later and left a message saying the same thing. He did not call me back. I called him about a week later and left another message saying the same thing again. He did not call me back. I asked my wife to call him and, sure enough, she calls him from her phone and he answers. She asks him why nobody has gotten back to us and he says he will tell Kevin, his colleague, to call us. We don't get a call. Yesterday I sent yet another text message to Kevin, the colleague, and asked him if he was still available to do the job. He replied "Yes" to which I replied with "when can you start?" and as of this evening, he has not responded. I don't know what the deal is with these two guys or why they just would not actually commit to doing this job. I was ecstatic at how affordable their quote was, but neither of them are doing their part nor keeping their word. I've since found another company to do the work. I wish I could actually express my opinion on their job skills, but unfortunately I cannot. They clearly lack integrity, work ethic and crucial customer services skills. Really, the only thing I can say is that they turned this "customer" into a missed opportunity. read more
