I have gingivitis, so she suggested something more thorough than a regular cleaning but not as intense as a deep cleaning. They applied a topical numbing gel, and I didn't feel a thing! Honestly I would have NEVER had my wisdom teeth extracted especially after two of my friends informed me of their subsequent extreme pain for 4 days which apparently is quite common. Side note: they had their extractions w/ different dentists. If I had known this guy was a miracle worker I would've done this procedure a lot sooner. FYI, I don't have a high threshold for pain and to my pleasant surprise I had absolutely ZERO pain. The next day I had slight discomfort and a little swelling but absolutely no pain and that's what I was dreading every morning when I woke up. I cannot thank Dr Hosseini and his incredible staff for a wonderful experience for something that is commonly associated with pure pain. The appointment began in a small office, where I was asked what "bothered me today"? rather than being examined in a dental chair. I was only moved to the chair after I asked for a clinical evaluation. Dr. Cabanillas briefly reviewed the X-rays I brought and immediately recommended removing most of my teeth and placing full-arch prosthetics for a flat $100,000. No clinical examination, functional assessment, occlusal evaluation, or diagnostic work-up was performed before presenting this plan. When I asked for a diagnostic model to be made, something that is typically a part of prosthodontic planning, I was told, "I don't do models. You need to find another provider.?" I left with no detailed evaluation, no individualized treatment plan, and no explanation of alternative options. This was not the prosthodontic consultation I expected.

My new dentist in California is shocked that crowns can break so easily. It's supposed to be very strong but mine are cracking within 2 years. For reference I have a 7 year old crown elsewhere that's doing fine. I don't know what material the crown is or if it's too thin but they're useless. Thousands of dollars down the drain. Repeat painful procedures on a tooth worse off than it started.
