Went for a steroid injection in my lower back...BCBS cost estimator put it at $500 or less, but that only covered "professional services" - shame on Unity for not disclosing the amount of the "hospital services" at the time the appointment was scheduled. $2000 for a steroid injection is beyond insanity for 3 minutes of the doctor's time. I have a family member who works at a different pain management clinic, who informed me they charge $1000 for an injection if you have no insurance. So as we humans do, I assumed it can't be more than that if I have insurance - $2000 with insurance is disgusting. I have suffered from neck pain for a long time and symptoms which suggest it is not nerve related but they still push that it is nerves when the symptoms suggest otherwise! refuses to give me the proper xray or scan or test and instead does irrelevant nerve disorder testing which has already been done! sends me in circles back to physical therapy which I already did TWICE and was NOT effective! recommends pain killers which I already tried which make the pain WORSE! REFUSES to run the right tests basically stating she "isn't sure" and has to review the other test even though I told her that these things weren't tested for yet and that it is at the recommendation of the Phys. Therapist that I look into vascular injury instead of just nerve disorders. Ignores ALL symptoms to blanket treat with worthless therapy and medication that was already tried and is contraindicated. Dangerous and inept doctor! AVOID!!!!
