    Healthy puppy running with stick

I have taken both my dogs here and have had excellent service :3 my dogs are actually excited to go to the vet which makes me more comfortable going in. Last place I remember going to we had just gotten a dog and I was honestly scared to go in because they were so mean about the dog having some health conditions (family dog we had for less than a week from the humane society, he had kennel cough, ear mites, and was underweight). So I'm glad that this vet was the polar opposite and everyone here is very nice

Wouldn't take my 4 legged friends anywhere else. The doctors are wonderful and the prices are reasonable.

Great veterinary service. They have cared for five of our dogs through the years. Best staff, reasonable prices. Most of all they care!

The team is very professional and goes through a thorough questionnaire, describing each treatment as she explained for my two senior teacups. It took about 3-4 hours to complete so I wandered into the small town only to find a Super, Super, Super Walmart. The largest Walmart I've ever seen. It was easy for me to ramble through the wide aisles. As I headed to the checkout, I received a call saying my pups were ready for pickup. The best surprise was the cost for both was a little over $1,000. One recommendation: Pay to have X-rays so all teeth roots are easily examined.

A Heartbreaking Shift from Personal Care to Impersonal Processing…read more I used to be a vocal advocate for East Mountain Vet, but the decline in their service is devastating. Years ago, you could count on real answers and a genuine connection with the staff. Today, that has been replaced by automated systems and endless waiting. The emergency "drop-off" process is particularly flawed. I was promised that my questions would be addressed at pickup, but that was a total "LIE". Instead of speaking with a Veterinarian or a Vet Tech, I was met by an office attendant who had no medical knowledge of my pet's case. They have NO CLUE. They simply read from the discharge papers and couldn't answer basic questions, resulting in a "deer in the headlights" look and zero clarity. They will leave the room in search of answers, but because that office is so busy they come back with no more knowledge then when they left the room. I left that office without seeing the x-rays I paid for, and more importantly, without any peace of mind. It is a factory-line approach to medicine that lacks any shred of the compassion they once had. I miss the old days of care and communication they gave. That is long gone. Word to the wise. Look for another veterinarian to take your pets. This place will leave you with money out of your pocket and unanswered questions.

We paid them to murder our pup. Recently, we brought our otherwise healthy baby girl, into Canyon Crossroads Animal Hospital for a cut to her nose. It was determined to be a non emergency routine wound care visit. We were so grateful, she was our child, our beloved everything. During the visit, she was given a dose of medication despite her medical records indicating not to, they took her to the back and proceeded to give her a sedative via IV without informed consent, they failed to keep her at the clinic to make sure she didn't react adversely to anything, they let her go after 12 minutes, visibly shaking and reacting to the medication I asked if she should stay for a bit to make sure she was ok. We were assured she'd be fine, and were told to go out the back of the clinic so we wouldn't upset anyone in the lobby we foolishly paid our bill only to have our cherished beloved one of a kind more than just a dog baby girl die in our arms on our cold driveway only a few hours after this visit. When I requested the medical records and an explanation of exactly what caused her sudden death following a routine procedure, wherein we were assured, promised! she would be fine! I was met with evasion, hostility, no answers, until a few days later when the owner had "...had time to review records and could answer any questions I may have." aka wagons circled, medical records got edited and everyone was told the script to follow. Please don't make the same mistakes we made. Go elsewhere. Take a look at all of the reviews. So many people suffering the same loss we are under similar circumstances. We understand our options are limited, and no remedy seems to be harsh enough when it comes to the loss we feel. Please please help us make our loss mean something...she would be happy to know her story helped another loving pet avoid the same fate and please caution anyone considering trusting this clinic with their beloved pets to look elsewhere.

I have presented her with several types of animals with issues over the years and she has NEVER left me looking for another vet. What I like the most, though, is her approach to having me, the owner, follow steps to remedy the ailing animal at home and to this point I have had a 100% success with seeing my pets through some real tough times. A great addition to the services she provides at her practice in the East Mountains is that she finds the time to provide excellent and very affordable shot clinics throughout the county. I mean what kind of urgent care doesn't accept walk ins? Come on Albuquerque vets get it together! Yikes! Anyways I was happy to get help right away as I was worried about my dog in the condition she was in. To be frank I was honestly avoiding this trip the previous couple days hoping the issue with my dog would resolve itself. Unfortunately by the 3rd day it appeared worse so I had to get my dog checked. Everything went great until they showed me the estimate for a diagnostic test. Oh boy that was a hard pill for me to swallow. Hesitantly I agreed to paying the bill. After about 3 hrs they were able to get a diagnosis and send me off with some stuff to help my dog. I am grateful to see my dog on the mend since my visit but the cost was hard to stomach. I honestly hope I don't need to bring her back in anytime soon cuz my wallet definitely can't bare the expense. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I am thankful to see my dogs health improve since our visit and I appreciate the help they provided us. I wouldn't mind returning I just wish it was a little more affordable.

We boarded our cat at Juan Tabo Animal clinic several times when leaving, and no matter how short in advance I called, they were always able to accommodate us. My cat would be showered with love and praise every time he came in. I had another senior cat who I was ready to let go because he had just stopped eating and I was afraid was in kidney failure - Dr. Sweeney convinced me to let them hydrate my cat and keep him overnight for antibiotics and I was surprised that my cat survived. About a year later, when the same senior cat became ill again, there was zero judgement and so much care from the clinic when we made the decision to euthanize, and they even stayed late so that I could make it home from work to be there with my husband. More recently, my dog Zeke had been acting strange and having a difficult time standing up. I brought him in on what was clearly a busy day, and within 2 hours, we had labs and imaging. Dr. Crisler worked through her lunch to withdraw fluid that had collected around my dog's lungs that would aid in the diagnosis of a very aggressive form of cancer. We were given the option of referral to local oncology for treatment, but opted to go a more comfort-based route which Dr. Crisler helped us with by prescribing medications that would help make our dog more comfortable. We unfortunately were not able to get our dog in to the clinic to euthanize, but he passed peacefully at home, and the clinic assisted us in getting him cremated which we so appreciate. I appreciate that they have recently expanded their hours by hiring more staff which makes it easy to get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time. I feel that the staff there really care about the animals and go above and beyond to care for my pets. I will continue to go there for the care of my animals.
