I had a good learning experience at Emerald Nursing School. I recently took a class to get…read morecertified as a nursing assistant. The class was reasonably priced. It finished in about three weeks. If you're able to learn fast, you'll breeze right through it. If you can't, I would recommend a longer program. They have an eight-week weekend option at Emerald. The tuition also includes the textbook and scrubs to wear for clinicals. You don't get to keep the text book. The state exams are separate costs. The class includes a lecture and skills lab, along with clinicals five days a week. If we weren't going through a pandemic, you would go to clinicals at a long term care facility aka a nursing home or assisted living facility. Once you finish the class, you take a state exam. The state exams are delayed right now. They'll hopefully resume in July, maybe August. You're still able to find jobs in healthcare by finishing the class I took. The classes are pretty small, which is good for me. There was a total of nine students in my class. You have to wear a mask at all times and social distance always. The staff is also kind and informative. Overall a good experience here. It's affordable and finishes quickly. Oh and another thing, you also get CPR certified after taking the nursing assistant class. That's typically a separate cost.

As far as the class, Mikalan was a great teacher. She explained everything very well and used a lot of great examples to show us how we would possibly be using what we learned in the hospital setting! As long as you pay attention to the videos and the instructors teaching, you will pass the test at the end with ease. It took me no more than 5 minutes to answer everything and I got a 100! I will definitely come back to ProAction in the future for any other classes I need!

This 23 million dollar school is in its 3rd year of operation. The facility is nice but the grounds…read morekeeping has room for improvement. The front desk staff gives the school a good image. There is a new principal in her first year at the school. She has a different approach from the prior administration. I admire both and we will see what is the better leadership style. The academics are taught and some teachers go above and beyond. Some teachers profess to care about the students but actions seem to be often mismatched. Sometimes programs get discontinued and no explanation is given-- such as no science fair this year, not a continued emphasis and competition among grade level for the best rate of attendance, the afterschool groups don't seem to be emphasized as much as they were the last two years, although the school has a school uniform, the staff and teachers need a uniform as evidenced by the attire of some of the staff. I have seen faculty with sneakers untied. The parents are not too involved as shown by no PTA. The faculty has a nice, paved parking lot but many choose to park parallel on side streets obscuring vision. The dismissal procedure is utter chaos and quite dangerous with no observed security measures and there is no crosswalk guards. Tutoring is available and snacks are provided for students who attend the tutoring sessions. Parent conferences have to be short like 5 minutes due to the large ratio of students per certified teacher. When the school got a waiver for classroom size, I doubt if parents were notified as TEA recommends. I look pretty closely at my child's backpack and I did not see a letter giving information of the classroom students exceeding 22. There is a choir teacher and an orchestra teacher this current year and both seem invested in their programs. The art teacher is stellar. There are often delayed announcements such as when photos will be taken. Each week there seems to be a least one day that students don't have to wear the school uniform. The parent engagement liaison is exceptional and is good to pass on information. This school is having its growing pains and the school's overall report card grade for 22-23 was dismal. Educators can do a good job and results can remain undesirable if there is not the parental reinforcement and I believe that Coach Archie Duran does not have a good handhold with the parents.

The year started with one teacher who a few months in was moved to another classroom and they brought in her current teacher Mrs. James, she is the nicest and friendliest she cares for the students and challenges them to be successful and reach their potential. I was surprised to my daughter getting homework but that has been a blessing in disguise. We enjoy helping our daughter every night with her assignments it helps her learn more and shows her we are there for her in her growth (spiritually and academically). Mr. Carlos is great as well, prior to the start of the school year we took the time to visit with a few schools and meet with the principals and try to decide which school would be best for our daughter. He met with us and gave us a tour of the campus. This was the only school our daughter liked and that we agreed upon mutually. The culture at this school is great, they show the students about the foundations of the Bible and living a righteous life. I don't believe this should fall solely upon the school to implement these core values. It really falls upon us as parents. However, the school and their staff really do an awesome job of teaching this to the students. The school has several activities throughout the school year that are open invitation to the parent if they wish to opt into attending or lending a hand. I highly recommend if you can do it, my wife and I did that many times and we really enjoyed it not to mention our daughter enjoyed us being there as well. Most recently we went to the zoo which was a lot of fun. We really look forward to the upcoming school year and all the fun activities. Please if you are considering this school do not go solely based on the negative reviews, I personally believe them to be biased. This school and it's teachers / staff are all amazing! If you have any doubts reach out to them for clarification. You will see they are a Godsend!

I remember walking into Tri-State Cosmetology for the very first time just to look around. I stepped into your classroom and instantly fell in love with esthetics. I also remember you asking me what interested me most about beauty school, and without hesitation, I said, "Skin." Looking back, that was one of the best days of my life because it led me to discover my passion and become the person I am today. Because of you and Mr. Art, I am now officially an Esthetician. It took many Friday tests, hours of studying, hands-on practice, and dedication, but your teaching, guidance, and encouragement helped me every step of the way. Working with our wonderful clients and learning from your experience helped build my confidence and skills. You and Mr. Art were more than teachers. You were mentors who genuinely cared about your students and wanted us to succeed. Mr. Gabriel, I can truly say from the bottom of my heart that you were born to teach. You are an amazing instructor, and I will forever be grateful for everything you taught me and for believing in me. Please know how proud you should be of the lives you impact every day. This is a cosmetology school, so remember to be patient, as these stylists are still learning. For my wash, I was pleasantly greated by Karin. She took me back, put on the drape, and took me back to the wash bowl. At first, it seemed as though she was having a little trouble with the water temperature getting it adjusted properly. after the knobs started cooperating, everything was great. She gave me a thorough wash including getting the hairs at the base of my skull that many people miss. She had great pressure and my hair felt so clean when she was done. We then moved on to her station, where she went to work creating beautiful curls with just a round brush and a blow dryer. When I was done, I was able to get in to get a lower leg wax. I was pleasantly greeted by Marina, who took me back to get my lower legs waxed. She did a great job waxing my legs, only missed a little spot, but the hairs are really light and could easily be missed. This was the least painful leg wax She was sweet and did a good job. I was very pleased with the Karin and Marina. Both did a great job, I can't wait to go back for more services.
