Let's start at the end... removed auto pay from my account a month ago, called and cancelled my account before it was due and the agent scheduled my container pickup date. They came and got my container - I spoke with the employee. And suddenly POOF another charge on my credit card for 3 more months... Remember they did not have authorization to do that - let alone my account was cancelled Just called and they tried to make it my fault about authorization until they saw I did change that a month ago. Tripped all over herself and said refund was coming in 7-10 business days. GEE THANKS for giving me stolen money back. This sums up my experience with them over the last 5 years... the 30% extra is because they think they are untouchable... choose someone else for your garbage or choose their GARBAGE

It was a pleasure to find this establishment in town today. I was desperately seeking someone to…read moretake a very heavy, large cathode ray tube television set off my hands. You won't find many charities or businesses out there who will accept this type of TV unless you're willing to pay a small fortune for them to dispose of it. I was turned away by Goodwill and Springs Rescue Mission and the size of the TV was going to make Best Buy a losing proposition as well. The problem is that these TVs contain lead in the tube, neck and the enclosed glass seal, which may pose a hazard to human health or the environment when improperly managed or disposed of. Nobody wants them. So even though these TVs can be in perfect working order, they're pretty much worthless. Unfortunately because the places that will take them charge a fee to dispose of them many people just dump them off the side of the road which perpetuates the problem. I found Blue Star Recyclers through a simple Google search. Ran down to see them over my lunch hour and was in and out in about 15 minutes. One of the gentleman working there kindly transferred the TV from my car to the warehouse, weighed it, and informed me of the recycling charge. $57 for them to take it off my hands. I forgot to take advantage of this but they do have a 10% off recycling fee coupon on their website you can print off and take with you. Anyway I was strangely happy to pay that fee just to get the TV off my hands and I felt confident that Blue Star was going to handle it in safe, professional, and ethical manner. Some cool info about Blue Star follows: "Blue Star Recyclers is an award-winning 501c3 social enterprise with locations in Colorado Springs and Denver, CO. Founded in 2009, our core mission is recycling electronics and other materials to create local jobs for people with autism and other disAbilities. Our mission to date has produced these triple-bottom line results: Over 25 local jobs for people with disAbilities in 4 Colorado communities Over $4 million in new local revenues and $1 million in taxpayer savings Over 10 million pounds of electronics ethically recycled In addition to our significant economic, environmental, and social deliverables, our workers with autism and other disAbilities have posted the following occupational metrics since 2010: Cover of Blue Star Recyclers 2015 Annual Report 0% employee turnover 0% employee absenteeism No lost time accidents 97% "on the clock" work task engagement Blue Star Recycler's social and environmental deliverables are detailed in our 2015 Annual Report."

You can go through their online account cancellation process, but it just triggers an email saying you have to call in. I don't carry a phone anymore. Had to contact them FOUR TIMES to get account cancelled, and at that, they used the words "one time courtesy" to describe closing my account. The whole time, they continued to bill me. I had to send a demand notice to them to get my account closed and to stop billing. Don't bother with their online cancellation option - it won't work.
