None of the rules were hard to follow but made our camping experience much more enjoyable. St. Paul and you can't beat the price. So this place has a…read morelot of bad reviews, hut it was exactly what I was looking for. When I get a room at the cheapest motel in an area, I expect: -a comfortable bed -no vermin or filth And that's it. Everything else is just gravy. This place was within 15 minutes of the powwow grounds, the bed WAS comfy, and I saw no vermin or mold/mildew or anything of the sort. If the cosmetics of a place are super duper important to you, then maybe this place isn't for you. But if you care about a place to sleep comfortably in St Paul, this place is ALL PERKS: -good WiFi; -all the streaming (to include Disney+); -super hot water that doesn't run out -convenient location I stayed in room 218 in June 2026 and the proprietor was extremely friendly and accommodating, including checking us in way after hours and letting us check out a little late. There's also a 7Eleven less than a block away and a gaming/Magic shop across the street which warmed my cold, nerd heart. We heard from some locals that the Galaxy has a reputation for being friendly to drug users, but I didn't witness anything to lend credence to this assertion, but potential bonus: if you're looking to score, this might be a place. If you're looking for the Ritz-Carlton... maybe don't go for the most affordable motel in Bumblefart, Alberta, 'cause this ain't it. But by no means is it bad, unclean, or unsafe. It's decent, ridiculously affordable accommodations with a comfy bed and all the amenities I personally look for. This place was comparable to staying at someone's house. The sheets aren't pure white a million thread count Egyptian cotton with walls so soundproofed that the room is eerily quiet and you need to run the A/C just to drown out the oppressive silence (just me? Oh, well.), but they were clean and I felt like it was like the whole stay was akin to the guest room at your family's house. I don't know why I only took pictures of "bad things," but let that serve as evidence that the minor cosmetic flaws weren't a big deal to me.

Might be the best price in town, but I would definitely think twice!…read more We were headed for St. Paul for a wedding and looking for a no-frills accommodation at the best price. I looked around and this was the cheapest with middle-range reviews. Nothing to glaring, so I had thought. We booked a 2 twin bed room for 3 people and upon check-in, we were gladly upgraded for free to a 3 twin beds. But, we were informed of no parties, check-out at 10am and no parties. That was fine by us. The room had 3 beds, a small bathroom, a fridge, microwave and small eating table. It was actually quite spacious for 3 people, but very simple. The first night, we woke up to a bit of a drunken fight at 2am in the room next to ours; therefore, not the best sleep. The second night we arrived late in the night and as we were about to go to sleep, we realized that the room was getting very cold, very fast. Outside it was about -30C and the heat was not working in our room. I called down to the reception in the wee hours of the morning and luckily someone answered. However, he came to the room and said that it was hot and the heat was working. The thermostat was set to 28C and it was probably 16C in the room, and getting colder by the minute. He even made a rude comment to say that 'maybe we were drinking and that's why we felt cold'. I was very offended as a non-drinker. We took the radiator he brought up and ended the conversation there. The radiator helped us for the night, along with our own heating pad. I would not stay here again. You definitely need to have reliable heat in -30C weather. Also, the manager had definitely known beforehand about the broken heating system in the room, as he had asked after the first night if we were warm enough in the room. I would suggest spending a few extra dollars for somewhere else!

I was told about Centre Suites from a friend in Edmonton and was pleased on arrival that it was nothing like a couple of reviews I read which had me nervous. On arrival into my room I was greeted by the scent of cleanliness. You could tell by looking at the shimmer on the shower walls it was well cleaned. As a bit of a clean freak I can tell this. I have a pretty expensive bed at home but this one is awesome. I slept like a baby (the kind that actually sleeps through the night). You do hear some outside noise but being a small town not much really. The breakfast they offer is definitely better than a Continental which means I didn't have to eat anywhere else before my client meeting. The staff is so friendly despite my demagnetizing my hotel card 5 times with my cell in range (whoops). I would totally stay here again. There is some general aesthetic things around that show the place's age but if you aren't worried about superficial this place is a hidden gem especially price wise.
