A superb bus line!…read more I have ridden Flixbus 3 complete times, and as I write this I am on ride number 4. Price is excellent, even long haul trips will. It will not set you back very much at all. Of course, booking last minute is more expensive, but not severely at all - not like airlines love to do. Fleet is modern, with double decker buses running on several routes. Buses are clean, have WiFi that is actually fast enough to get some work done (and not slower than dial-up as some bus WiFi tends to be). What really surprised me though is the toilet on board. In other coach bus rides, toilets were a what goes in stays in kind of deal, and that's it. Here, you have a sink with running (but non-potable) water, soap, and the toilet "flushes" like know trains or planes. No breaks during my journeys, but there is some food sold on board. Nothing exciting at all, but enough to hold you down while you ride long haul. Buses are clean! Drivers are professional. I have one small gripe and suggestion. Gripe is that there is not better signage in some places as to where the actual stop is. It's there, just a little tough to find at times. My suggestion is to do like Megabus does on some routes, and allow people the option to reserve their seats. That way the people that really want the seat up front on the top level will be able to get it for a little extra money.

The budapest flixbus station had a sign that they will not direct you to the other bus station. This makes absolute no business sense whatsoever. First of all the people asking for this bus already have tickets so flixbus is not losing out on any business. But imagine that you are under a time crunch to find your bus, and this person on the other side of the window knows exactly how to help you...but won't... Flixbus is creating a situation where potential customers will actively avoid the company that directly screwed them in a previous situation. So good job Flixbus, noncostumer for life. Also my parents call you the unfriendly bus company so there's that too.

I got off my train and was on my train in a merely minutes! The tram was easy as tickets were available on the app with a slight discount. There are also tickets available for sale on the tram.

It's a large railway station with multiple platforms on different floors. It's spacious and very clean. Signage is so very clear and also in English. Besides the shops and the cafes, there is something so touching and always worth noting. There's a statue memorializing the Kindertransport. The statue is of a young boy sitting on a suitcase. This was the train station in 1938 that took over 10,000 young children from Austria, Germany and Czechoslovakia, separating them from their parents, and transporting them to England so they wouldn't face Nazi Persecution. It's a poignant statue and the trauma these children faced should never be forgotten

I enjoyed how efficient, straightforward, and no hassle this transportation hub was. In Europe, by and large, busses are a less expensive way and a more versatile transportation mode than trains because they can go places that trains can't and can actually be faster than trains with routes that have several stops. In addition, the busses take you on routes through areas (towns, etc.) that you would otherwise not see. The busses we rode on were comfortable and had amenities such as reclining seats, water and light snacks (Yes, I'll have water and spice cookies, thanks), air conditioning, and Wi-Fi. The agents at the customer service window were very helpful with disseminating information, etc. The station itself isn't large bit there are a fair amount of seats and electrical outlets for plugging in your devices for a quick charge up in the midst of your traveling. My experience was that buses run on schedule which is greatly appreciated. I would most definitely use the bus service again (via the International Bus Station).

There is wifi internet on board that worked intermittently (better while on the Austria side than once in Hungary), as well as a toilet. Buy your ticket online at eurolines.at, print your receipt/voucher, and take the underground to the Erdberg stop. The main bus terminal is approximately 100 meters away. Redeem your voucher for your boarding pass, stow your luggage under the bus (with the help of the driver) and find an unassigned seat. There is a toilet on board so there is no need to pay .50 Euro for the WC at the bus station. The seats are comfortable enough for a short journey, and recline a bit. It was quiet and clean on board-- no smoking is permitted. Our concierge assured us that the drivers of these buses are well-qualified and tightly regulated. He said this mode of transport is very safe, and he does it all the time. We arrived in Budapest at the bus station and had pre-arranged with our hotel to have a taxi waiting. The station is 10 minutes or less from central Budapest. We were very satisfied with our experience with Eurolines and would do it again.

After a long day of travel, I was confused as to why it was in my hand and as written, threw it out. The other traveler I was with did not make this mistake, and had immediate confirmation via a charge on credit of this mistake and proof of payment. Nevertheless, the person at the ticket station immediately fined me, and with such a tone as to say that I had no other options. Upon the help of a local, we went to dispute the charge as total ( original ticket, fee, replacement ticket) I had spent ~170 USD or 140 Euro on trains that I maybe used a handful of times. Even with all of the proper credit card charges, and proof of payment of said tickets/fee--due to their archaic processing system I got no resolution. In fact, I even had to dance between train stations to find the correct place to dispute because the workers at the desks at the stations misdirected me!!!!!! Even through all of this struggle their only consolation was that because I PAID THE FINE IMMEDIATELY, as a confused traveler does with no information of their options--I had no option to dispute it because in paying I "admit fault". Moreover, they couldn't even look me UP IN THE SYSTEM because when the fine was paid they didn't submit my information alongside it. A complete joke, and I was treated with a lot of disrespect from both representatives I interacted with--with no sympathy or even a sheen of admitting fault to their bogus practices and inability to properly log information of those who use their train systems. It appears based off reviews from other places that it is not friendly to tourists--and those travelling should beware of the many ways one could be fined inexplicably.

The exterior at ground level is ordinary but the station itself is clean, well-marked and easy to use. There are a few services and retail opportunities below ground before descending to the tracks. There are machines for ticket purchase that are easy to find. The tracks are deep underground so it is a long way up if you want to climb the steps.
