The Vienna International Bus Terminal is great. We took the train from Budapest to Vienna and took a bus from Vienna to Brno. I enjoyed how efficient, straightforward, and no hassle this transportation hub was. In Europe, by and large, busses are a less expensive way and a more versatile transportation mode than trains because they can go places that trains can't and can actually be faster than trains with routes that have several stops. In addition, the busses take you on routes through areas (towns, etc.) that you would otherwise not see. The busses we rode on were comfortable and had amenities such as reclining seats, water and light snacks (Yes, I'll have water and spice cookies, thanks), air conditioning, and Wi-Fi.
The agents at the customer service window were very helpful with disseminating information, etc. The station itself isn't large bit there are a fair amount of seats and electrical outlets for plugging in your devices for a quick charge up in the midst of your traveling.
My experience was that buses run on schedule which is greatly appreciated. I would most definitely use the bus service again (via the International Bus Station). read more
