As I pulled into the parking lot, I saw a slow but somewhat steady stream of senior citizens heading into the building, quite a few had walkers. What was going on? Well, it was Bingo Night ! Luckily, I'm not that old yet, and I wasn't there for bingo. So why was I there? One of the professional organizations I belong to was holding our end of the year meeting there. We had a medium sized private room upstairs with a bar and a terrific bartender. The room opened up onto a multi-leveled patio with all kinds of table and chair groupings and a spectacular view of Long Island Sound. Our dinner was a very nice buffet of chicken, chilled shrimp, meatballs, potatoes, scallops, sliders, fruit, cheeses, crackers, etc. There was also butler service hors d'oeuvres in very plentiful supply. I asked the bartender if the food was catered, and she said no -their chef makes it all on site. I was very very impressed by every aspect of our night at the Elks. Did I have a great time? What a great place to eat. Their Resturant faces the water and the food is delicious . I had the mussels as an appetizer and the salmon as my main course. The mussels were sweet and plentiful, served with a roasted bread. The salmon was served in a Lemon butter sauce with rice and roasted vegetables. The vegetables were peppers and asparagus wrapped in slice of eggplant. The prime rib is also very good here. read more

We are Middletown Elk members. A beautiful day on 7/5/31 at 4:30 PM. We ventured out to the Westbrook Elks and sat at the bar. Beth and Jamie were the bartenders. We sat without a welcome or a hello. Waiting about 25 minutes for our 1st drink, Jamie approached us and we order our drinks. We wanted another and food, but they never approached us and were not even available for us to ask for another drink and to order food. Jamie left and disappeared. After waiting about another 45 minutes, we gave up. Asked for out check and left. I guess if you are not familiar to Jamie and Beth, service is unwelcoming and they could care less. read more

The Westbrook Elks Club isn't anything fancy, but it's a great place to come and hang out by the water while enjoying seafood and drinks. My friend is a member, and she said this is the nicest lodge in the state. I believe her! There's a little stretch of sandy beach and grassy lawn, so you can lounge in the sun on surf or turf. There were also a few boats anchored offshore, and people were coming into the club straight from the water. So, again, unless you're coming here for a specific event, you can leave your finery at home and come in casual wear. We grabbed a table on the patio for lunch, which included steamed mussels, calamari, soft shell crab, and shrimp. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and decently priced. We could've spent all day here enjoying the view, so we'll definitely be back soon! read more

Best thing our family did was join the Elk's.Great location , beautiful beach for my grandchildren, good food and drink an very affordable for my family. Beautiful back lawn to lounge on your beach chairs and listen to live music.Downstairs bar is steps away.Everyone is so friendly and all are there to have a good time.Weekly dinner specials that are so inexpensive I wonder how they make money.Besides joining for the fun this organization is so charitable to hospitals,churches and local businesses, and LOVES our veterans .God Bless the Elk's for all they do.So proud to be a member read more

Been going here for over 20 years. #1 thing is the food is not what it use to be four 4 years ago which was top of the line everything being fresh & not frozen garbage from the cheapest food supplier. Charging a lot of $$$ for long-time frozen foods (meats, fish, clams, hotdogs burgers)which are all frozen not fresh. Their homemade potato chips are also really nasty tasting. The persons running the kitchen & cooking the foods must have work a convalescent homes because the food looks & tastes that bad. I have been to almost every seafood & steak restaurant in the state of Connecticut & Massachusetts & this place the worst food ever. Gordon Ramsay would love to pick this places kitchen apart for sure!! Now as for the upstairs bar & The Beach Bar which is excellent for a nice ice cold beverage it is awesome with a great view of the water!!!!Bands outside right on the water on Sundays in the Summer is excellent too!! read more
