All but one of the former staff was replaced. We're no longer greeted at the door - an Ace thing. Staff seem impatient with requests, the clerks often don't know the name of the products they're selling even though asked about something with the exact name printed on container. We've since started driving about five miles away to the DeBary Ace. Highly recommended for being everything this Ace is not.

Pets aren't allowed in the store, we found out after the fact but no one gave us any trouble since our sweetie was chilling in our cart. Haha, so darn cute! On this visit we picked up a new Mr Coffee Express Brew for $20, regularly $40. Great deal and the coffee is delicious. The store is huge and jam packed full of good furniture, home decor, collectables, jewelry, and more; so much so that a tall guy like me has a hard time getting around without bumping my head on something hanging from above. There is also a warehouse next door to the main building but it is closed until Thursdays, I guess to minimize the amount of staff working on slower days. Something to note that this store has a fantastic selection of stained glass sheets in a variety of sizes for sale. They also have a stained glass workshop in the back, very cool. Plus the owner makes stained glass wind chimes and other items that are here for sale. Although many of the items here are very nice and an excellent condition, we felt that everything is just too expensive. Even some of the items you consider 'Thrifty' seemed overpriced. Regardless, if you're looking for a unique piece of furniture, lamp, or dining room set they just might have it. I highly recommend checking them out if you have never been here before because they do have a lot of great stuff, but honestly I can't see myself going back here on the regular just because of the pricing.

I didn't ask for a refund all I wanted was a replacement. She says to me "if I replace it I am out $50"! I was in total shock! #1 she didn't pay $50 for the item I did. She said that the manufacturer would not give her credit for it or replace it. That was the worst customer service for a store that I have ever experienced. She took my name and number and said she would send the picture to the manufacturer and see what he said. That was over a month ago now. Have heard nothing. Another customer in the store that overheard our conversation was also in shock. Told me outside that she would not consider buying anything there again after witnessing her poor customer service with me. I will never purchase anything in Anita's again and have spread the word about this to everyone I know and will continue to do so when the opportunity arises. I am in downtown DeLand every week and have even shared my experience with other small stores downtown and they have all had the same reaction....not good for the reputation of other downtown DeLand stores.

Then while I was in line an woman ahead of me had a return to process and cashier Colleen approached it as if she were prepping for a tooth extraction. "Do you have a receipt? I need the tender you purchased it with Mam"- very flat and her emphasis on Mam with the customer ahead of me was beyond unnecessary. I was prepping for the worst check out ever when (play Trumpets here!) a different cashier jumped into the other other register literally with open arms , a HUGE smile, and fresh attitude and asked if she could ring me out. Why yes you can Angie with the positive attitude! In fact you are such a breath of fresh friendly air, I'll leave a yelp review! In a contest versus Angie and Colleen - Angie wins each time. (She was also the nice salesperson who approached my husband and I while we were shopping to see if we needed any assistance. I'll keep popping in because of her kindness and positivty.
