This is a difficult review to write, but I'm going to take the high road here, for a few reasons:…read more1) I am very often the guy who's the one in a thousand where things go wrong. I suppose I was just born that way. 2) Things are especially difficult for small and/or independently owned businesses right now. Many years ago, I worked for a sole proprietor, and I learned that it's not easy. 3) I truly believe that Rich (the owner, I think) is a good guy, who'd love things to go smoothly, and has the best of intentions. Now, as for my experience: I was initially a little confused by the website, which is actually easier than I made it out to be. When navigating through choices, I believed I needed to choose a mailbox, a post, and then the separately listed installation. I probably could have done it that way, but Rich had responded to me and pointed out that a box/post combination could be chosen, and installation was an additional option in the same product listing. Yes - far easier. After ordering and paying online, I followed up with a call to ask how the process works. Would the box and post be shipped to me? Would it be brought out with the installation crew? When could I expect this to be scheduled? The person I spoke with said he wasn't certain, but he believed they'd come out with the mailbox and post. He'd also guess that installation might be the following week. When that following week passed, I called back, and was told that Rich was away for a few days (totally understandable), but that he had a meeting scheduled with Rich when he returned, and he'd try to nail down a day for the installation. Again, I heard nothing, and when I called again, I was told that it would probably be installed the later part of the following week. Ultimately, having never dealt with the company before, and having prepaid for the materials and installation, I was becoming a bit concerned. Then, I received a voicemail (missed the call) from a very nice person who apologized, explained that they were going through a bit of a transition, but that the mailbox would be installed that very afternoon. Terrific! Except that it wasn't. Finally, the next day, I had to let them know (no one was answering the phone at this point) that if it wasn't installed before the upcoming Monday, I wanted a full credit back to my card. Later that day, the mailbox was installed. I received a follow-up text message apologizing, and indicating that the crew was detained/thrown off schedule the prior day. So, to summarize, my experience wasn't very good. But, I do believe it's their intention to deliver good service. Things that could be changed or improved: If my expectations weren't reasonable (because it's January, for example), perhaps a banner at the top of the website, and a checkbox when ordering that makes it clear that you understand there might be a delay. Man the phones with someone knowledgeable, and who can answer during business hours. In the off season, maybe that's a friend or relative, or someone else that can be given a crash course on the process. When a crew is delayed, have them text or call. Don't ever just not show up. To wrap it up, I have a feeling that if this was a spring or summer installation, it might have gone smoother. If there wasn't the "transition" they spoke of, it might have gone smoother. If this was due to a personal situation, I would have completely understood. Maybe they could have credited me back for the purchase, and said "We're so sorry, but we just can't do this now. If you're not entirely without a mailbox, can you try us again in the spring?" (I would have) If you're considering using Town & Country, I wouldn't be surprised if you have a much better experience than I did, but, I can only relate my personal experience.

I want to begin by echoing many of the other negative reviews; I can't speak to the actual product…read moreor service, because I can't get in touch with anyone from the company. Last Sunday we purchased a mailbox and installation online through their website. I followed up with a phone call that Monday to arrange installation. I was sent to a full Voicemail, and have now called, e-mailed, and completed a web contact form in hopes to get some kind of response. At this point, I will be putting a claim in with my credit card company for a refund. I hope everything is ok with the owner and his family, but having spend over $800 and not receiving any communication in return, I'm not sure what else to do.
