I would give West Point Park zero stars if Yelp allowed it. My experience with this property after moving out was extremely frustrating and showed a serious lack of communication, transparency, and customer service.
I moved out and began trying to resolve issues related to my security deposit in January 2026. From the beginning, there was constant back and forth regarding charges being added to my account and deductions from my security deposit.
I was charged for cleaning-related fees even though I had provided documentation showing that the apartment had been professionally cleaned. I also disputed additional charges, including an HVAC cleaning fee that, based on my review of my lease, was not listed as a charge I was responsible for. Despite providing documentation and repeatedly explaining my concerns, the issue continued.
Throughout this entire process, communication was terrible. I sent numerous emails, made countless phone calls, left voicemails, and followed up repeatedly. I was often completely ignored. No one would return my calls, respond to my emails, or provide a clear update about what was happening with my deposit.
Eventually, on March 27, 2026, after all the back and forth, I was told that my security deposit would be returned. I provided the forwarding address they requested.
And then... nothing.
Weeks went by, and I still had not received my deposit or any meaningful communication. I continued calling and following up, but once again, I received little to no response.
At that point, I finally went in person to the leasing office because I had exhausted every other option. That was when the situation suddenly became serious enough for someone to actually address it. I was told that the onsite manager was on maternity leave and that she was not responding often. I was also told that my check had not even been printed yet.
This was incredibly frustrating because I had been trying to get answers for months. Nobody had simply communicated this to me. Nobody called or emailed to say, "We're delayed," "The manager is out," or "Your check has not been processed yet." Instead, I was left repeatedly calling and emailing with no response.
Approximately one week after my in-person visit, the check was finally issued, and I ultimately received my security deposit in May 2026.
So from January through May, I had to repeatedly chase down an issue that should have been handled through basic communication and proper move-out procedures.
The most disappointing part was how differently the situation was handled once I physically showed up. They already knew who I was and what was happening before I even had to explain myself, which made it clear that they were aware of the situation and my repeated attempts to get answers.
I understand that move-out charges and security deposits can sometimes involve disputes. What I do not understand is completely ignoring a former resident who is repeatedly trying to resolve an issue.
If you are considering renting here, document everything. Keep your lease, receipts, cleaning documentation, emails, screenshots, and records of every phone call. Do not assume that someone will proactively communicate with you if there is an issue with your deposit.
I eventually received my deposit, but only after months of back and forth and physically going to the office myself.
This was one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I have had with a property management company. The lack of communication, the unexplained/disputed charges, and the amount of effort required just to get a response were completely unacceptable.
My review is based on my personal experience as a former resident, and I hope management improves its communication and move-out process so future residents do not have to go through the same experience. read more
