When I called for estimates, one company quoted $6,500 to repair the line without even looking at it, and a Tarentum plumbing company quoted $6,750. Thank goodness I called Arnold Plumbing, who quoted $1600 to $1900. Greg Jr and Rob came the next day and in 5 hours had repaired/replaced the line. I highly recommend Arnold Plumbing for competent work at a very reasonable price. Penny Lentz, 10/29/25

I'm a girl coming in with an idea and a project, and absolutely no experience or knowledge of steel/metals. They were friendly, honest, and extremely informative. They helped me get exactly what I needed for my project, (stainless steel rods for a propane Firepit) without feeling intimidated or uncomfortable with my lack of education on the industry. I was able to walk around and check out all the cool stuff they have. If you're like me, and just a girl with an idea, don't be intimidated to stop in here and find some really cool stuff.

They over inflate the miles you actually drove. They said I drove 11 miles...I calculated my route and it was 9.2 miles. There is a $9 credit card fee...but they require a credit card. They also encourage a $15 damage coverage, which I actually recommend because I am positive they will find something damaged when you return it. I get that you need to put gas back in it but I didn't even use a gallon (I went 9 miles) and as charged 2x as much as the current cost of gas. Unfortunately, what I was moving didn't fit in an SUV and I didn't have anyone available with a pickup truck to help. It would probably have been cheaper to higher moves for 1 hour than to use U-Haul. Never again.

I brought my mower over from Maine in 2019 - it was given to me by a friend who had bought a riding…read moremower, to replace the Craftsman Mower I had purchased in 2004 which was falling apart more and more each year. The seasonal tune-up was very cheap in Maine, but each year they actually made my mower worse. So when I brought the replacement mower to PA in 2019, I used it to mow my lawn throughout 2020. Toward the end of the season, the blade had begun literally tearing up the lawn rather than cutting it. I decided to get a tune up ahead of the 2021 spring season, and I compared prices - Although all of the locations asked for more than I was used to paying, South Hills Mower had the best price, the quickest turnaround, and the most confidence of anyone I spoke to. So, I brought it in. They gave it a tune up and replaced one of the filters. I don't know how long it had been since the filter had been replaced, but it clearly needed it. They also sharpened the blade and did all the other spring tune-up stuff that needed to be done. Not only did they not make it worse like the idiots who did my tune-ups in Maine, but it operates so much more efficiently now. It doesn't tear up the lawn - it cuts. Before the tune-up, I could mow roughly 2/3 of the lawn before it would run out of gas and I had to fill the tank back up. Now I mow the entire lawn on one fill up and still have enough to mow an additional 1/3 of the lawn next week! They essentially doubled my fuel economy with their amazing tune-up. In general, I find the costs of these tune-ups to be prohibitive. I can get a new 21 in cut deck walk behind mower with a Briggs & Stratton engine from Home Depot for around $200, so paying $75-$90 for a tune-up seems a little excessive. But the work that South Hills Mower does is worth the price if you don't want to buy a new mower every 2-3 years (I don't.) You won't likely find workmanship this good at this price anywhere else in the South Hills. I recommend this business highly.
