What a great find…read more Texas Longhorn Ranch is just a few hours outside of Toronto and well worth the visit - whether you're looking for just a night away with someone, or looking for a larger group activity. The TLR used to be a summer camp and has been converted into a very unique Bed and Breakfast. You're greeted by the family that owns the place and their farmhands (everyone was so nice) and shown the grounds. Unlike most B&Bs, you actually have your own cabin (which is a converted covered wagon). Maybe not the best for noise cancellation, but luckily there's no one around for miles. The room was neat, modern, and comfortable. A heater is provided incase it gets cool at night, and if you're lucky enough to get some night time drizzle, you'll fall asleep to the sound of dancing raindrops above you. There is a fire pit with each wagon (which they start for you, city slicker), and each morning you wake to find a fresh pot of coffee outside ready to go. There's also a large field (wouldn't want to mow it) for playing catch or whatever it is people do in large fields. They have quite a nice size pool and lounge chairs which during those hot Ontario summers will come in handy. The meals that were provided were awesome; great value and delicious. Totally homestyle. We had roast beef, fresh and local vegetables, strawberry shortcake, grilled potatoes, salad (it was enough for 6 people...there were 2 of us). It was so good (and $30 per person was the best deal i've seen for a meal of this quality/quantity). The horseback riding was what initially drew me here - and as a novice was happy to find that although am I a not horse-whisperer, the very capable hands of our trail-leader basically was. We had a about a 2 hour enjoyable ride through the woods, visited some neighbouring horses (which started galloping over to meet us....amazing), saw lots of deer, and enjoyed nature. The next morning it was time to leave and I remembered I didn't have that much gas (it's sort of the middle of no-where and probably 20 minutes to the closes gaz bar)...the Texas Longhorn Ranch came out and gave me a good 10L for free. Because they're that nice. I can't wait to go back. Best B&B/ local vacation I've had....and it won't break the bank. 5 out of 5 neighs. NEIGHNEIGHNEIGHNEIGHNEIGH!

Parking is free, the park itself is beautiful - there were bridges, a mini waterfall, lakes, a playground and a splash pad! Little critters are everywhere - turtles, snails (big ones too!), and lots of squirrels and birds! Waterworks Park seems like the perfect place for a picnic, a mini day trip, or just a place to relax. I can't wait to visit this place again! The drive from London to St. Thomas to go here is definitely worth it.

I've gone to all the different parks in St Thomas and most of them are REALLY NICE, but this one and Pinafore Park are truly great. You want a playground? check. You need a splashpad? check. Want a nice paved path to push a stroller around for a walk? check. You want nice gardens and just nice pleasant landscaping. check. Heck i even heard/saw people fishing in the river that's nearby? I don't even fish and that sounds like a awesome bonus! And i used to do the Pokemon thing and there's a TON of stops and gyms or whatever there so you can literally walk around a beautiful park playing your game or taking a seat on one of the benches, maybe have a coffee with you and chill. It's great... there's bathrooms and change rooms, its never too busy. I have zero bad to say about this place. Bring your kids.... enjoy it, we are lucky to have this.

Their reception area is much larger with tons of storage for shoes, bags, and jackets. The bouldering area is now on the 2nd level which gives people more room to hang out and take breaks. They added more auto-belay walls as well which is awesome for those who do not have the belay training and just want to climb on their own. I definitely recommend this spot to beginners and pro climbers alike! Let's not forget, they have a ton of friendly people working here! They are awesome! As someone who lived overlooking this park for many years I must tell you it is a an absolute…read moredelight. Conveniently located almost right at the forks of the Thames it is also along the Thames Valley Parkway and sees a lot of bikes and rollerblading and hikers when the weather allows. While Victoria Park sees most of the festival action, you can often find something going on here on the weekends and the Canada Day fireworks are a must attend event. It's quite a large park and offers lots of room for picnics, frisbee or whatever outdoor activity your heart might desire. It's a delightful spot to take in a little nature right in the heart of the city!

While Victoria gets to shine in the heart of downtown, Harris Park is a hidden gem tucked in beside…read morethe Thames River. This park has a ton of green space, a small play park, and a great trail for running/biking. There is also a beach volleyball court. Before the days of IMPark down in Harris, it was easy to park your car and go for a run or play a game of v-ball, but now you have to pay. The trails here can lead you far and wide across the city of London. It is really neat to see how far they can take you. You wont find this park jam packed with festivals every weekend. From Rock the Park, to fireworks during Victoria Day, it is a nice space to be active or hang out to get away from it all. The geese can kind of be an annoyance, especially when they use the walkways as their bathroom but hey, thats nature! I've seen some really cute ducklings while walking the trails. Be sure to watch for warnings about high water during the spring time. It can be dangerous. Definitely visit Harris Park, even if you are stopping in at the nearby museum, it would be a great spot for a picnic!
