Although it is a good quality item with good packaging, I had to drive a couple of miles to get my order.

I inquired about their adventure tours. They no longer offer them. Unfortunately, the hurricanes…read morethat struck the island in 2017 devastated many locations and trails, plus the insurance issues. After 22 years of tours they had to call it quits. The only one they kept doing was the camping tour on Mona Island (off the west coast). The pandemic and earthquakes of last year put a halt to that. While there is still a possibility they do them again, it may take a long time because of the conditions of the harbours. They need repairs. For the meantime, the focus is just the store. No tours. Bummer. Still, the store is the best place to get hiking and camping gear. Great selection, quality products, and knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Lately I have been interested in camping. I want to take my 3 year old on a little camping trip…read more I'm sure he will love it. My nieces recently went and they loved it. My husband took me to Acampa to look at camping gear. I really like this store. They have a nice inventory of camping related products, as well as for hiking. I'm sure you will find some items at the sporting goods section in Walmart or Kmart for less than you will here. But you won't find everything you will find here, nor will you find the quality. Also, you can't beat the knowledge the staff here has. You can tell they live and breath the outdoors. It's their passion, from the owner to the employees. And they are nice. I would say if you are really interested in hiking/camping, this is the place for you, whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced. I know I'll be returning.

A Swiss man, Kurt runs this place. I have serious doubts that he is PADI certified or even a dive…read moremaster. But he will gladly rent out tanks for cheap to you and take you on his boat for a dive. He is likely be the ONLY person who will rent tanks without any questions on the Este side of the island. We went to and called 5 places and eventually found him. Be wary of the tanks you rent though, we came across two with seriously leaky o-rings. In his shop you can find spear fishing equipment and fishes for sale. He seems more of an aquarium enthusiast than a dive master. Why do I say this? He doesn't tell you what you are going to see. He never asked for dive cards. He doesn't show you anything. He swims off quickly without you. He doesn't do safety stops (eek). He doesn't even tell you the depth or length of the dive. While he is searching for peppermint crabs to capture and sell, he will tear up the reef getting them. Really? You are paying $65 to go on a questionable dive without a dive master. If you aren't comfortable, don't go! If you have a respect for the environment, don't go!

I had a great experience at Puerto Rico Diver Supply. I popped in here on a whim while staying in…read morethe area, and told them I was interested in going on a dive. Kurt, the proprietor (a friendly Swiss fellow) hooked us up with Capt. Michael, a local divemaster and skipper. We set up a private charter for not much more than a cattle-call boat would cost. We rented tanks and weights from Puerto Rico Diver Supply (we had our own gear for everything else), and it was a reasonable $20. The rental equipment looked well-used but serviceable, and I was happy with the quality of the gear. Our charter went well, and Capt. Michael did a superb job. The right side of the shop is also an aquarium supply shop that sells a variety of tropical fish. Note: Beware the location shown on Yelp maps; it is inaccurate as of this writing (7/18/15). It is located across the street from the Villa Marina. Correctly shown on Google Maps. Here are coordinates: 18.339733, -65.640414
