This is such a beautiful location and place for a ride. The horse was such a gentle giant, his name is Bandit and I even got a hug from him at the end. I can not say enough good things about the guide. He was knowledgeable about the horses and everything on property and around. He was so friendly and since it was just us I felt so very lucky that I got to chat with him as we rode. It was over way too fast, I wish they offered longer rides. It was a perfect experience. My son…read moreand I happened to be the only two on that trip due to it being the "off" season and you would think a charter might cancel or postpone but they stick to their mission to provide a great fishing experience. Even though the fish didn't cooperate, we caught 4 red drum that day of which only one was a keeper within the size guidelines. We fished 4 different spots. Captain Brad goes the extra mile to do his best to make it happen even stopping at another marina to pick up different bait. He doesn't give up easily when it comes to fishing!! Hilton Head is beautiful and even if the fish ain't biting, you just can't go wrong. We saw dolphins, pelicans, an eagle and tons of other birds...relax and soak up the low country. I live here half the year so it will definitely be something I'll want do when friends and family come to visit.

I drove by their location and looked around twice in the past week to see if I could speak to someone in person, but there were no signs of anyone being there for quite some time. This was such a cool city, and this park is the heart of it with it's long, wide, nicely designed…read moreconcrete walkway, with the water and anchored sailboats on one side, along with the Forrest Gump bridge in the distance, and the nice one grass area with the long row of wooden swing benches, (which were nice to sit on while resting from doing pull-ups on the structure holding it up. Behind the perfectly manicured open green space, is the main drag of the the old town center, and that is nice to walk through too, lots of cool shops and artwork. I was just passing through this town around dusk, but I found it hard to leave after walking around the town for a few hour and after talking to a local beggar about all the history here, so I ended up staying the night, and hanging around the next day exploring. In hindsight, there was so much more to see, so much rich history, so I will be back.

My husband & I planned an anniversary trip to Beaufort and stayed at the Best Western across from the park because we thought it would be lovely to walk by the water at night. After dinner, we walked down to the park and were very surprised by a tall, chain link fence in front of the entire walkway saying no one was permitted! Not to mention the homeless people all over the benches in the very poorly lit area. To add to it, there is a lot of road work being done on many of the streets here and there are large fences also blocking entire roads off. And the smell of trash is strong while walking around the area. Like so many small towns that used to be nice, looks like politicians have ruined this one too.

You get to sleep on the beach sand (we pitched a tent) and fall asleep to the waves and wake up to the sound of waves. Crawl out of your tent to sand and palm trees. It's just perfect. Great spot to go to if you wanna get away from civilization.
