Definitely a good selection as far as fishing is concerned. My problem was customer service/…read moreemployee conduct. No one said a word to me. Which is fine, but I get better treatment at liquor stores haha. The Spanish gentleman that does the fishing report was there, I was going to introduce myself and say I was a fan until I heard him keep cursing up a storm about everything to his coworker. Talking about some tech who came to his house to fix his washer dryer. No big deal, I just kept quiet and rolled through and helped myself. Then I go to checkout and the kid at the register just doesn't say anything. He was doing something, so I had to address him and ask if I could checkout. Then after the transaction he just doesn't say anything like "alright good to go" or "thanks" ..nothing . I was like "ok are we good?" And he says "yea do you need a receipt or something?" Annoyed. I almost lost it. I try to support local tackle shops, but this is the type of stuff that irritates me. Like I'm a nuisance even though we are the ones keeping your doors open. I can get the same products for cheaper dropped off to my doorstep. I want to support, but it's not worth it when you are treated like you're invisible/annoying. Just order your gear online before spending gas money to come here. Good for last minute items, but don't expect any kind of Good vibes/Help/Comradery .

The man behind the counter talked with me about where and how I fish and what I'm using now and made a suggestion I wasn't expecting - a Shimano baitcaster. I took him up on the offer and got some new line spooled on it, and bought a few other bits of gear. I had no idea what line to really put on it and the owner of the shop "The Bald Guy" lol suggested 12 for what I was doing and another man spooled it up for me. They gave me some local fishing pointers while I was there, and this was all within maybe 5 minutes of their trying to close up and go home. The next day I practiced with the reel and absolutely loved it. Their recommendation was right on, and I didn't pay a penny more for this reel than I would have online, but I got to support a Maryland business, where not only do the salaries stay in Maryland but the profits do as well, and I got to support a local tackle shop which you may have noticed are dwindling. All without spending any more money than I would have anywhere else and with the benefit of people who fish these waters every week giving me real (reel?) advice. Next day I returned with the wife and picked up some more advice and some more gear. Two great visits in a row. This is a true local shop that has a very large supply of gear and advice from real fishermen on tap for you. I love the personalized attention and honest advice you can only really get in a Mom and Pop shop and it's great to be supporting local Maryland businesses.
