Not only did Sportsman's have a superb pair, they were on sale and the right size. Paying full price for these particular shoes was not an option. Sale for the win. On top of that, there are so many cool things here to see and add to my future wish list. I could get in trouble in a place like this. An outdoor lovers dream. For years, they've offered a 15% local discount to residents of Seabrook, Kiawah, and lower Johns Island. Their sister stores in Freshfields offer the same. For years, I've shown my license and been granted a 15% discount, as I live about 1 mile from the store on Johns Island. I live closer than any Kiawah residents (Cassique is 2 miles), while the Marsh Oak condos at Bohicket Marina (Seabrook) are indeed closer than my house. This year I was told by management that they "never" offered discounts to anyone other than Seabrook Club or Kiawah Club members with a Club card. My years of receipts prove otherwise. It's hard for me to continue to support a local business when they are claiming they never had a policy that existed. It's fine if they choose to change their policy, but please do not lie about it.
