Like, 100% changed my mind and needed to have the wedding there. From day one Victoria was AMAZING in helping us budget, plan, and coordinate the wedding. Their list of recommended vendors was a literal lifesaver in picking out the key people in the wedding. Victoria was checking in and keeping me on track throughout the whole planning process. The space is gorgeous. The house has a bridal, groom, and family suites upstairs to get ready in. Downstairs is a nice area for cocktail hour. The ballroom was large and beautiful for our reception. There are also many places outside to have a ceremony! They were so flexible in allowing me to use the space in a way that made sense for us. Everything is so personalized and unique to your wedding. Now, if that wasn't a 5 star review in itself the day of coordination might as well bump it up to a 10 star. On the wedding day Victoria made sure I was 100% stress free by organizing my vendors, keeping the bridal room calm, and doing every behind the scene thing you can imagine. The wedding was outdoors overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains and it was a cold November day, so Victoria set up a hot chocolate station with blankets to keep our guests comfortable. During the reception she made sure my husband and I were eating, drinking, and having a great time. They were even flexible enough to extend the reception for an hour because everyone was having so much fun! I couldn't ask for a better wedding. Thank you to The Trivium and Victoria for a day I will never forget!

Biggest Mistake of My Life…read more My fiancé and I were scheduled to be married November 7, 2020 at the venue. However, due to the global pandemic and steady rise of cases across the nation, we would like to postpone our event to the fall of 2021. We both are honest, hard-working individuals (healthcare professionals in fact). We do not want to (and will not) put the safety of our friends and family in jeopardy to host our special day (both of us are blessed to have all grandparents still living). We certainly could not live with ourselves if our wedding was the cause of an isolated outbreak of COVID-19, causing significant morbidity and mortality to our guests. Therefore, we contacted the trivium last week to explore our alternatives. However, we shortly discovered the venue is scheduled to be sold in 2021 and not booking future weddings. It is undetermined at this time as to whether the estate will reopen as a wedding venue. After admitting the venue could not accommodate our needs, the owner (Heidi Baker) refused to return our initial deposit. The owner proposed she could reschedule our wedding to January of 2021 and delay the closing of the venue. However, this did not accommodate our needs. In my professional opinion, postponing a wedding scheduled outdoors to January is nonsensical. On a further note, annual influenza season peaks between December and February which would increase the risk of severe health complications among our guests. We are simply seeking the refund of our initial deposit so we may secure future wedding arrangements. The initial deposit would certainly go a LONG way on future preparations! If you are looking to book a venue for your wedding this year DO NOT consider this venue.

The people working the event were fun and attentive. It was great that this place is kind of hidden in the back of a neighborhood. But believe or not, SV only gets better once you meet the Owner, Marianne and the wedding coordinators who are A Little Party (ALP). They are all so WONDERFUL to work with and I felt completely cared for throughout the wedding process, which is a really scary thing if you don't have a good team by your side. Marianne and ALP are both professional, prompt, and go above and beyond. They made sure I was happy and satisfied and if there was an issue or concern, they help fix it right away. The best part of SV for me was when I finally saw it in person. Though SV looks amazing and gorgeous in pictures, it'll take your breath away in person. If you want a gorgeous outdoor venue with the wedding dream team, you've come to the right place. I was hired by the couple, but the venue wants you to spend extra $$ to have their coordinator, a stranger to you, be part of the process instead. I've done multiple weddings, coordinated with multiple photographers and DJs, and I have certification in event planning and decorations. They still wouldn't allow me to work with them because??? They don't know me? I'm not good enough because I do this "for fun" instead of as a main source of income? I hope all couples are aware of this before-hand, and I hope the coordinators through this venue live up to the expectations of the couple I wasn't approved to work for. Very disappointed that I can't add this venue to my resume/recommendations.
