The only difference between then and now is that I can take advantage of the $1 specials from Kitchener/Waterloo. However, despite the advertising of free wi-fi, my bus did not have any sort of that. There were power outlets available, but it wasn't much use as I didn't had technology that needed charging. The seats were also quite uncomfortable, very hard for a coach bus. I understand I probably got what I paid for, though the seats are just a minor thing that should be a necessity for any long-hauls despite whatever price. I'll probably be sending an email to Megabus/Coach Canada to see if all buses are supposed to be equipped with wi-fi in the future since the service did recently start, and they probably haven't had time to equip all the buses with wi-fi yet.

After an easy drive on the QEW, we entered the town of Hamilton. Then the drive turned nerve-wracking as the streets narrowed, the stop lights multiplied, and the neighborhoods became numerous. All these things made the stop and go execution painful. When we finally arrived at the GO station, we were confused because there are NO signs indicating that the Station entrance is for BOTH trains and buses. Because we were looking for the Toronto bus and could only see train tracks, we drove around the block and turned into a neighborhood looking for help. Luckily, a nice lady saw us and told us they were one in the same, and that we could park on the RIGHT side of the road in a drop-off area. There were signs, but too small to actually read while driving on the two-lane one-way street. All in all, very confusing and just too stressful. We'll use another GO station further east to avoid this next time!

This station is the definition of hell…read more There's NO TV's to tell where you are going or the time they get there or what platform, NO staff besides the really nice man at the convenience store, the only reason this isn't a one. He's treated like crap every day because of the trains and I feel bad for him. The train today TOOK OFF ON EVERYONE without warning, didn't even opened the doors for five seconds and then took off closing them without warning. Didn't deploy handicap ramp. The booths have only 3 seats and there connected. Every booth stinks like a different kind of poop or pee or drug. It's the worst station in Ontario, maybe even canada. Nothing is updated, even long branch is updated. Not impressed.

Never thought I'd stay here but here we are!…read more Usually I visit Hamilton for family time. And always stay with family. This time, after 2 years of covid coming back, figured I'd get a cute little Airbnb close to my family's house. Close it was and disaster it was! They came in 7-8 times to the unit in 12-14 hours of me being there. Unannounced, unauthorized! It was that crazy. Long story short, Airbnb got me out ( luckily after 4 -9 calls/ emails) and put me here. Not much was available. And I appreciate this so much more! Walking in here albeit it was late/ after a stressful day, this was such a haven. The front doors don't slide open at night due to homeless, they have to buzz you in! That threw me off a little like ok where am I!?! But I guess most cities/ downtown's having this problem right now. They have stuff shortage like everywhere else, so check in was just check in. You can get their luggage carts yourself, load and or park and load. The receptionist ( Meagan I believe) was super nice to let me park out to load/ check in first. Then go park underground. So much better that way. The room was super spacious. Kitchenette was super clean, bathroom was nice. Even the kind bed was comfy. Could look a little more better if they tuck in/ do a better bed prep. But! It was a ok without it :) They had breakfast every morning ( or my room came with it). I didn't make it most days (4 days) only because I don't eat breakfast. But I made it in for coffee which was available all day. Even decaf! They also had a happy hour thing/ Thursday 4-6:30 I believe. Some cheeses, drinks etc even some tacos. I went for juice and coffee. Still great. Overall , it was very empty during my stay. The gym was small but clean. The Hammer! Downtown Hammer/ Hamilton is busy/ but empty. It's a nice change. But perfect escape from my nightmare Airbnb! I don't know If I would like this place as much if book and check in here without Airbnb disaster. But I definitely appreciated my stay here! Only if they weren't so expensive though. I stayed in Park Hyatt Toronto after this. Thought about coming back but the prices here are pretty high. Not as high as Park Hyatt Toronto but almost as much as Hyatt Regency Toronto. This area doesn't have as many hotels. So I guess it makes sense. Regardless, I enjoyed my stay here! Great, clean hotel.

I also looked at what the potential cost of parts and how long it would take to get them. I did a google search in the Hamilton area and found Ed's Appliances and Parts. I went in and met Nick the owner. What a wonderful, friendly man who was also very helpful. He was able to confirm what I thought was the issues and I ordered a new heating element and check valve. These were ordered on Apr 16 and was informed I should have them by the 19th. I received a call that they were in on the 18th! Everywhere else showed it would take approx two weeks to get the parts and I would have to pay shipping on top of their more expensive pricing. Unfortunately while reinstalling the dishwasher I broke the hose assembly. I think I had someone looking out for me because it really should not have broken that easily. I called Nick, my new best friend, who said he could have it by the next day. I highly recommend Ed's Appliances and Parts, Nick is very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They also just brought in bicycles! If you are looking for anything, give Nick a call!!!
