During the signup process, I never felt conned or manipulated. They explained the prices and what the membership offered, but it was never a sales pitch. I know enough people to be on a nodding/fist bump relationship, and for those I don't there's warm fellowship/ community atmosphere there. The owner is one of the certified trainers, and is always greeting people and introducing himself to new faces. The music they play is mostly Christian, and any secular music is always inoffensive. The only complaint I have about the music, is that I wish they played more music from my high school years like DC Talk and the Newsboys. I've been a member of a few gyms over the years, but this is my favorite one by far. If you are looking for a gym, then this is a great place to join. God bless.

It was where my brother and I started each day promptly at 06:00, and was relatively busy even that early. Unlike the newest Royal Caribbean ships, Vitality fitness is a stand-alone gym, not connected to the spa or massage areas. It has a circular yoga/stretching room that could probably fit 8 people. One thing I really liked were the quality of mats provided: very thick and cushioning and still in relatively good shape. It looks like each ship gets to decide what sort of mats to provide, and the other newer, more elaborate ships can take a lesson from this one in terms of the mats. There were plenty of disinfecting wipe stations around, but no dedicated towel stations, per se. And like other areas of the ship, getting any sort of water is not possible here, so need to bring your own.

It had been awhile and the yogi Cecilia was super helpful to get my lizard and pigeon pose correct. Great atmosphere, very chill and Zen. Oh the cool lavender towels on the forehead were a pleasant and classy touch! 2nd day, went and Melody the owner was the yogi. I was so happy she did not focus on the same area! Solid place to boulder. Been coming here for around a year or so and enjoy climbing here…read morePros: -By far the most inexpensive gym to climb at. I have my own gear so 9 dollars to climb all day is well worth it -They started setting routes much more often, got TONS of new holds, and have switched to having there routes all the same color holds -not a ton of people climb here! Of course the weekend has the occasional party with lots of kids but you get to know most of the people that climb during the week. -the owner Dwight! Other people may say different but I've had nothing but great interactions with him since day 1. He's always been kind and respectful and chatty when I go. -the fact it's not in the middle of Houston. Some of the traffic at 5 around the mall can be a little rough but other than that, a MUCH better option than dealing with driving through rush hours. Cons: -not a ton of variety in top rope. Doesn't get changed NEAR enough. Bouldering has hugely improved but the top rope gets changed once a year it seems. After bouldering, would be nice to have some new top rope routes to burn out on. - this is kind of a pro and a con I guess. It's kind of a dingy gym. It's like the garage gym equivalent of a rock gym. So it's a little dark, smells like sweat and looks a little run down. However, I don't care about looks or smells, I'm gunna get sweaty anyways. So although I can get a killer climb in, some people may not think it's aesthetically pleasing All in all, I love climbing here. Could get more attention to the top rope, but for 9 bucks, suck it up and get better at climbing so all the routes open up for you.

But they gave me a near empty chalk bag. All around would not recommend unless you are a beginner.

Alright, time for me to gush! It is rare to find good dance/fitness studios so when I do, I go…read moredeep... I attended my first intro class at ReformHer last weekend and immediately fell in love with this studio. As someone who grew up doing Pilates as a dance, I've been struggling to find a good Pilates studio that had small class sizes and attentive instruction. I'm glad that the "big box" studios like Club Pilates and Solidcore have brought Pilates and Pilates-inspired fitness to the masses, but it just wasn't the Pilates that I originally fell in love with. Imagine my delight when I moved to a new apartment this year and discovered ReformHer just a quick 5-7 minute drive down the road! Kelsey is an absolute delight of a woman. She is attentive to client needs while also pushing you to get out of your comfort zone. I particularly enjoyed that she took the time to understand our reasons for coming to Pilates and pointed out specific exercises that would be especially pertinent for our concerns. Because the classes are small (5 students max), they are tailored for the individuals in attendance. I also found that Kelsey's packages/rates are very fair for the level of instruction and variety of apparatus in the studio (oh yes, this is not just your basic reformer Pilates or prop-less Pilates - you will use that Magic Ring and you will like it!) I signed up for the 8x/month package for $229, which is just under $30/class - unheard of rates for boutique Pilates. For folks who are looking for very rigid classical style Pilates with the standard sequence... it doesn't exist in the area, sorry. BUT! I'll give the reassurance that while Kelsey's exercises are more contemporary, her teaching style is quite classical. She focuses on alignment, activating that core powerhouse, is meticulous about precision and control, gives great corrections, etc. There is also NO talk about "earning your lunch" or "burning calories" or any of that mess. Oh, and this is completely superficial of me, but the studio is also SO DARN CUTE!! with soft mauves and pinks and soft lighting. It makes me excited to go to class haha.
