Doug was very responsive in the beginning. After viewing the project he said he had to do some research as the siding he needed was no longer available. He never found an alternative and never bothered to contact me to tell me that he couldn't do it! I'm very disappointed , he left me hanging when he could easily have told me that the job was too difficult for him and that I should find another company to do the job. read more

Honest! Quick to answer calls! Explained everything so I would understand. Great customer service! Highly recommend!

Just repaired my attic stairs. Came out the same day and did a great job at an honest price. Would definitely use them again!

We needed a new back door hung and a doggy door installed in that new door. We called around, but we had difficulty finding someone willing to come out during COVID. Doug was so friendly and communicative. He came by the house and gave us a free quote and showed up exactly when he said he would to do the work. His attention to detail was wonderful - he would not leave until he was happy with how it looked. My husband and I WILL BE CALLING him again for literally any work we need done. Thanks Doug! read more

Outstanding customer service and responsiveness! While I haven't yet used Doug for any services the timeliness with which he has addressed my questions and concerns surpasses any other maintenance service or handyman business I've encountered before. Doug is easy to get ahold of and always responds very quickly when I need him for repairs and general maintenance on our commercial building. From simple tasks to half day and full day jobs, Doug is worth his weight in gold. So happy I found him! read more

Doug did a great job installing our doggie door. The place I bought the door from sent some defective screws that were too large to thread into the door. Doug first tried to find these unique screws at two local stores but they did not carry them. He then documented the problem and sent the doggie door company a nice email with pictures explaining the problem and copied me. Once working screws did arrive, he was able to finish the job and the door looks and works great. Thank you, West Coast Repairs! I'm already planning on contacting Doug for some other projects. read more

Doug installed a vent hood over my gas range. The installation was tricky since there had been a microwave in the space previously. He made sure that the exhaust vent above the vent hood was to code and had to make a trip to Home Depot to purchase the correct materials. He is courteous, professional and does great work for a reasonable fee. read more

I recently found out that Doug has relocated to Texas. California's loss is Texas' gain! Happy for him, sad for us. Chances of finding another handy person as good as him? Very slim! Good luck Doug. Hope to see you soon! read more

Doug is very friendly, knowledgeable and his communication is excellent. He helped me solve an annoying range hood issue from the previous home owner. The overall outcome was perfect and far exceeded my expectations. Thanks again for the great work Doug! read more

There aren't enough superlatives to describe our experience with West Coast Repairs and Handyman Services. They were an absolute lifesaver for us! We needed help fast to make a number of repairs and upgrades to our parents' house after a bad experience with another contractor. Doug and Cecelia responded immediately, showed up when they said they would, worked closely with us to develop a plan for what needed to be done, and communicated clearly and consistently through every phase of the project, with regular updates and photos/videos showing the progress. The work was of the highest quality, exceeding our expectations, returning the house to a condition not seen in many years. And all for an incredibly reasonable price, with detailed invoices and no surprises. Doug and Cecelia restored our faith that there are honest, trustworthy, and capable people in this world. We will definitely use West Coast Repairs for any future work, and give them the highest recommendation for your next home repair! read more

Doug saved the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Accidentally kicked some outdoor piping at my friend's new property, broke a pipe and had to turn off the whole house water. Doug was super responsive, and came and did a great job fixing the leak so my friend weren't stuck without water. Since then, I have hired Doug for other projects including installing a reverse osmosis system. Doug always does professional work, is timely, and lets me know if something is outside his wheel house. Highly recommend. read more

Doug at West Coast Repairs is the absolute best. We hired him to prepare our house to list it for sale. We did not have easy jobs or usual jobs. Doug came through like a champ. All the work was meticulous and done properly. He was in regular communication regarding scheduling, items needed or even just thoughts on how to approach a rather unusual issue we were having. I would recommend Doug 1000%. He's friendly, efficient, communicative and genuinely cares about the work and the customer. read more

Doug is an amazing handy man! He saved me from my worries over the security of my door. My lower door knob was kicked it. I made an appointment and within a week, he was at my residence ready to help me out. Great customer service and he was an extremely friendly individual and I would recomend his services to my family and friends. read more

Doug has recently helped me with two separate plumbing situations - one involving a leak under my bathroom sink, and the other involving a leak in the spray hose under my kitchen sink. In both cases, Doug was very responsive and accommodating when I contacted him, and he proved to be very competent and knowledgeable when performing the repairs, even though neither one was an easy fix. But thanks to him, both faucets are now working perfectly. Unlike the bigger plumbing companies that charge an arm and a leg and your firstborn child, Doug seems to be an honest man who charges reasonable prices. I appreciate his efforts to find ways to save me money without cutting corners. I also appreciate his professional assessments and tips. After my experiences with him, I definitely trust him with all my plumbing needs in the future. As a homeowner, it's nice to finally have a go-to guy for these types of issues! read more

Doug at West Coast Repairs is a damn wizard. I've just moved back to San Diego and my apartment, while charming, had quite a few little issues, from window screens to closet doors. Doug fixed everything immediately, and he managed to make me laugh the entire time. He's reliable, efficient, and a genuinely great guy. In short, Doug is a beefy, handy Dumbledore. I'd recommend him to anyone. read more

I called for help with a dryer vent hose connection that wasn't so connected anymore. He also fixed a door latch that never worked liked it should. Bonus! Super nice guy. Did great work. Definitely my go to handyman from now on. read more

Doug is the real Handyman. Experienced, honest and a cheerful soul. He fixed damage to drywall promptly and a plumbing problem as well. We had a second repair done as well. A new faucet in the Master bedroom. Don't go to anyone else. read more

I found Doug thru Angie's List after trying and trying to find somebody willing to take on smaller jobs. I needed a rain barrel hooked up and a small additional piece of gutter attached. Doug went out of his way to find the perfect connections for the barrel. He searched on line until he found what be thought was the right thing and never gave up. He is a true perfectionist down to the tiniest detail. I feel very lucky to have found him and my project list might actually be completed thanks to him. read more

We just had Doug from West Coast Repairs come out to our house and install a new light fixture we recently purchased. We are beyond satisfied with the quality of work he did and plan on using his services again when we replace our old foyer light in a few weeks! Not only was Doug's quality of work professional and top notch but his customer service skills were impeccable! It is simply amazing! I first left him a voicemail and within the hour I received a message back from him! Since then he was in constant contact with me with trying to set up the next available appointment which ended up being the next day even though he was already booked for that day! In past experiences we would have to wait days just to get something set up! Such impressive communication is a rarity these days! We were beyond impressed and grateful to find a handyman that is not only professional but makes sure his soon to be customer is well taken care of. His prices are also very reasonable and are listed on his website as well which is a plus and a rarity too. There's no second guessing or surprises. We are beyond stoked that we found Doug and are thrilled to not have to search for another handyman again. He's our handyman for life and we look forward to using him on other projects we need around our house! read more

This was a great experience!! Very responsive and kind. Also great work!! I was amazed at the work!! This man was able to make my front base post look amazing!!! I highly recommend him!!! Thanks Douglas! read more

I called Doug for a semi-urgent drywall need in our investment property. He was busy but local and took time to come check out our situation to see if he could help - so nice! He offered some VERY helpful advice to my husband free of charge and also provided him with a half-used can of texturing spray that he didn't have need for to help my husband finish the job. My husband said Doug was "a stand-up guy - super nice" and we really appreciated his guidance! We will call him for all our handyman needs for this property which is an investment for us and not our home we live in. Having someone you can trust to do jobs correctly and with integrity is invaluable! Thank you Doug! read more

I called and emailed for a quote. We texted back and forth and said he would contact me, he was waiting on a cancelation or something. I kept chasing him for an appointment. Instead I called another handyman who actually had time for me instead of me waiting for him with my thumb up my @$$. Glad I did. The other handyman came the next day first thing to fix all of my fixing needs. Wouldn't rely on this company, communication is $h1t. read more

First, Doug responded to my call very quickly and he was able to fit us into his schedule the same day. He was very knowledgeable and did the job the correct way instead of taking short cuts. After the job was complete, we took at look at some other things to be done at a later date and he gave some great feedback. I will definitely be using West Coast Repairs again! read more

Doug is a more like a contractor relaxing into a handyman gig to avoid the stress I guess. He has done everything from simple fix it jobs to electrical to plumbing at our house. We trust him enough to leave a key but enjoy him so much we always hope we can be home. He is a very hard worker with excellent work ethic, craftsmanship, and passion for what he does. read more

If you're reading the reviews, it means you're doing your due diligence in selecting Doug for your next project. Look no further! Doug is one of a kind and a true professional to his craft! Honest, hardworking, diligent, fair, great communication, and kind hearted. I hired Doug after a contractor walked out on my elderly mothers' bathroom upgrade. The other contractor left it in shambles, and actually did additional damage to the home that I was unaware of. Doug was able to point this out and patiently walked us through his process, gave me a great price and stood by his word. Doug poured his heart and soul into our bathroom project to get it to where my mother wanted it. He treated my mother with the upmost respect and I appreciate that! His work is second to none! He took a non-functional master bathroom and turned it into a gem. Shower, toilet, floors, vanity, tile..etc he did all the work and in a timely manner too! My only regret is that I can only give Doug 5 stars instead of 10 stars!! I can't thank Doug enough for the professionalism and quality of work he performed for our family! Give Doug a call, you won't be disappointed! read more

Very professional and quick. I needed a quick turn around and Doug came thru. I will gore him again.

I called West Coast Repairs over a month ago. He came out once to look at my bathroom exhaust fan and thought I could save it just by changing the motor. He found the part but never called me back. I called him again and he said that he would have to come out again and remove the motor to find the correct size. I apologized for this extra work and told him to charge me for the trips to make up for it. He said okay but never has called me back. I certainly would not give my business to West Coast Repairs. read more

Doug is a superstar, I'd recommend him to anyone! He was quick, efficient and professional. I had a long "honey-do" list with misc. household items (hanging pictures, a TV, assembling desk, etc.), but the topper was the fixing of my laundry room door which had fallen completely off. The doors work beautifully now and I'm super-happy with everything that Doug did for me. He came on a Saturday so I was working alongside him all day--he was really great to work with. There were too many things on the "honey-do" list to finish in one day, but he even managed to work another afternoon in that same week for me as I was anxious to get everything done asap. I'm so happy to have my long list of things completed, my house is really shipshape now thanks to Doug. I will definitely be hiring him again in the future! read more

Our air conditioner leaked right through the living room ceiling! Not good in Texas with mold issues; you have to move fast. Doug was recommended by a neighbor and was over the day we called. He removed wet insulation, cut up the floor and let us borrow his professional fan for days to dry the attic out. Then came and replaced the insulation, and repaired the floor! Though I didn't need his services for the ceiling repair (the air conditioning company took care of that) I know he could have done that too if needed. What an all around qualified handyman and good guy. So glad he's in my own neighborhood! read more

I highly recommend Doug. He has high standards of excellence and goes the extra mile to do the job right. We had a leaky roof following heavy rains and needed a temporary tarp while we wait for the insurance company to assess the damage. Doug responded immediately, was very prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. He took time to clearly explain what was needed and why. We will definitely be calling him back when we need more work in the future! read more

Fast, Fair and a really nice guy! I'll definitely call Doug first when I need repairs.

Doug showed up on time and completed the job without issue. Price was reasonable and I would definitely use him again.
