This was the THIRD funeral the Carmon team supported for our family, having managed my mother's and brother's funerals previously which also went perfectly well. My great thanks to John Carmon and his wonderful team for fantastic support, great communication, and services worth every penny we invested in the three services.

Despite being provided with full contact information for all eight of her children, they made no effort to notify the immediate family of her death or her services. Instead, they catered exclusively to just two siblings--one of whom they are close personal friends with--allowing them to control who could and could not be informed. Even after being told that several out-of-state family members could not attend in person and offering to pay for a recording of the funeral, Carmon failed to provide this service. As a result, many of our mother's children and family members were completely excluded from saying their final goodbyes. A funeral home is supposed to serve the needs of the deceased and their entire family with compassion, fairness, and dignity. Carmon Funeral Home failed on all counts. Their actions--or rather their lack of action--speak volumes about their priorities. To take sides, withhold communication, and deny family members a chance to honor their mother's life is not only unprofessional but absolutely disgraceful. Families deserve better during one of the most difficult times of their lives. Carmon Funeral Home failed to do the right thing.

During the very sad, overwhelming and emotional times after losing a loved one, it's comforting to know that SHB is available to shoulder the task and help you and your family navigate through the storm. In confusing and uncharted journeys, it's important to have trusted and highly experienced professionals available to help. Once again, after losing a close relative last October, we are appreciative of the professional manner that the arrangements for our cousin were planned and perfectly executed by SHB.

Driven by this location many time was pretty surprised by the ease of getting in and getting out as the funeral was promptly after the business day concluded. There were ushers helping us park cars as it was a large gathering from in and out of state that was here to bid farewell to a friend and family. The lot was pretty tight yet served us well as I didn't have to fight for a spot and was heading inside. The staircase leading upstairs from the lot that I had parked was beautiful, though we all were dressed in black attire. Two different rooms for seating and the bigger room held the casket and visitors came to pay their respects. A decently sizes funeral home that some had to squeeze by others while there was still areas for groups to congregate. I imagine that a lot of thought and preparation was put into honoring this man and this funeral home did him justice. Cannot speak to the procession the day after to the cemetery as I couldn't attend but I imagine thar it was well organized and handle the business of the Elmwood West Hartford area.

From the second you walk in as a guest the staff here is waiting with open arms to make this experience as easy and stress-less as possible. I believe he is one of the owners, but Ryan has personally helped a great deal with all arrangements and made these sad days a little less hard on everyone with how much help he has been. Just wanted to leave a review and thank the amazing staff at the DuPont Funeral Home for all the work they do. Little did we know that they would botch up the services they were suppose to handle professionally and expeditiously. Beware nationally direct cremation ( aka silent cremation) only costs $575 - $1,395. * My 93 year old mother passed away from Dementia and cardio-vascular failure. Sure the body was picked up, but was not cremated for days due to no availability (?) at the crematorium. The ashes were suppose to go to my brother and death certificates to all the siblings. Nothing got sent. We had to call and find out that these items were sitting at the funeral home. We were promised they would go out that day. No ashes arrived. After one month I called Kenny Funeral and they said the delivery of the ashes fell through the cracks. I told the assistant that I wanted a personal apology from Brian Kenny(owner), that the ashes would go out the next day and compensation for his funeral home negligence. Brian did apologized blaming the problem on a family crisis and he would personally mail the ashes and follow up with a compensation offer to our family for his funeral home's ineptitude. Like everything else the compensation was forgotten or intentionally overlooked. A death of our mother was heart wrenching enough, but to have the family go through this agony was despicable.
