I only wish I had read the reviews prior to purchasing and getting a massage here. I went to the address on the groupon receipt and it was (and still is on the website) incorrect. I tried calling and went to straight voicemail (she evidently does not communicate at all by phone. I will later learn that I would not either if I were always so rude). I went to the mobile site and clicked on the map to the new location. I called again and left a message letting her know what happened. Unfortunately the map on the mobile site was also incorrect. I finally punched in the correct address and called again - voicemail. When I arrived to the location I was "greeted" with a "YOUR 20 MINUTES LATE!" When I let her know what happened, she said, "Well, I have already called someone to fill the spot." If only she had checked her voicemail while making that call...... At this point, I should have just cancelled the groupon but I just figured she was frustrated and gave her the benefit of the doubt. I rescheduled. I finally got my massage and when I arrived, she was just as rude as she was the first time. For whatever reason though, I still had the massage. Honestly, the massage itself was pretty good. When we were finished however, I looked at my phone to see that it was less than a 40 minute massage, I paid for an hour. At that point I was just annoyed and frustrated and left without addressing it. When I emailed to inquire as to why it was so short she explained that the actual massage is 50 minutes hands on and we started early. I know for a fact this was not the case because when I looked at my phone to find the voucher to present to her, it was after 3 o'clock. I hope that you will read this before purchasing and proceed with caution. I have no idea what those older reviews are talking about... I just saw Rosella for the first time today; a chiropractor friend referred me to her for a long time shoulder injury that has been giving me problems. All I can say is WOW! She's a freakin' life-saver! This is not your average spa massage, full of rose water and fluffy robes. This is a legitimate therapeutic wellness massage. This is the real deal to get your body back into balance. Rosella has been doing this for a long time, and her experience shows in her techniques and ability to immediately zero in on problem areas. I am tremendously grateful I found her. Don't listen to the reviews below. Just text her (don't call, just text her), I got a very timely response and was booked right away. The payment options are incredibly flexible and absolutely budget friendly, even if you need repeat sessions every week like I do. I can't believe how RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL these people are! I had a gift certificate for a 90 minute massage so I went to their website to make an appt. I was having trouble with the site so I called the number listed on their webpage but it wasn't valid. So I then clicked the email link but it wasn't working so I copy/pasted the address and wrote to them letting them know that I was having troubles making an appointment and that they had broken links on their webpage. The person who got back to me was EXTREMELY condescending. Basically accused me of lying and said there was nothing wrong with their page and to stop bothering them. I wrote back and said "Look, If you don't want to deal with me, I'd happily take a refund." They told me I'd have to take it up with Groupon so I did. I offered Groupon a copy of all the communications with this person so they could see for themselves why I was so dissatisfied. Groupon was very accommodating and promptly gave me credit for the $50 I spent for the gift certificate. I understand that I could have just re-gifted the certificate but I don't know anyone I dislike enough to send them to West Ashley Massage. I would not recommend this place to anyone! I just wish I would have read all the negative reviews on this place beforehand. I sure won't make that mistake again! read more

They refused to honor a groupon and were rude about it. Even if your going to stop honoring them, at least be respectful to customers.

I set up an appointment for my first day off in 4 months. I needed to relax and unwind from such a crazy season of nothing but work. I show up 10 minutes early to my appointment, which was at noon, to find the door locked. No phone call to tell me that my appointment had been cancelled, I thought the business had gone out of business or something. I called the masseuse just for it to go straight to voicemail. I left a message, and she never called me back. While in the parking lot I decide to check my e-mail. I received an e-mail stating that my appointment had been cancel. I would not have been so upset if I had received a call, but an e-mail. Not everyone checks their e-mails on their days off, especially if they just worked 4 months straight. What business doesn't have to common courtesy to call it's clients, especially the day of to let them know the appointment must be cancelled, and ask if I could reschedule? If I would have received a call I could have found another place to get a massage, or a least planned to do something different with my day. I will never ever be back to such an inconsiderate establishment. read more

I have had the privilege of getting a massage, a facial, and a brazilian from Rosella on multiple occasions, and she is a talented and compassionate therapist. Her line of skin care products are amazing. Frankly, I am very surprised by the negative comments on this website. If I could give West Ashley massage 0 stars, I would. I showed up for the first of 3 facials bought as a gift to me from my children. I booked online and arrived on time at 10:30. She greeted me with wet hair and a frown, and told me she did not know how I had gotten that appointment because she doesn't work before 12:30 on Sundays. She never smiled or spoke the entire hour. Only because my kids had bought them for me, later that week, I booked my next facial. She later cancelled it because she was going out of town. I rescheduled for Oct 8 and booked 15th for my final facial at the same time. She texted me the morning of the 8th to cancel because she was sick. She stated that she has rescheduled me for the following weekend. I texted back that I already had scheduled an appointment for the 15th and I would not be available for the following Sunday. She did not respond. Today, Oct 13, I texted her to confirm my appointment for Sunday. She tested back that I do not have an appointment for this Sunday because I had cancelled it, and she had rescheduled it for the 29th. After a few more exchanges of texts, she told me to just get a refund from Groupon for the last two facials. At this point, I have requested a refund from Groupon and will absolutely warn others not to waste their money on such a rude owner and disorganized business. read more

I recently booked a massage for today as a gift for someone else and they cancelled it last minute VIA email (after my friend showed up on site). They had no idea it was cancelled and had to hear from someone in the Pilates studio that the massage therapist had a snafu. I get that all correspondence is done via email....but when you cancel on the day of...ESPECIALLY 1 hour before the massage, show some consideration for your client and pick up the phone and call them. 3-4 hours from the time of the massage, It would have been fine to email as long as there there was an explanation and some heads up on when I could reschedule, but since that didn't happen I refuse to ever book a massage here again. In a city full of massage therapists and upscale spas, you would think this place would try and thrive in customer service to even compete, but clearly that's not the case...which is reflected by all of the negative reviews on various sites that I wish I would have read before purchasing the massage. read more

Absolutely awful service. I never give bad reviews or good reviews for that matter because it's usually not worth may time. However I had to let it be know how terrible this place is. I purchased a massage through living social and 3 times had my appointment automatically reschedule or canceled usually within 12 hours of my appointment. Luckily living social simply refunded me before I could step foot into this place which sounds like an awful product provided by awful an awful massage therapist and business woman. Ok, so this is the absolute first time that I have ever taken the time to write a review, but my experience was SO BAD, that I just have to save others from such a potentially horrible experience. First of all, I tried to call the practitioner 8 hrs before our scheduled appointment to confirm, but, not only did her phone go directly to voicemail, the recording said, "this subscriber cannot take messages," or something of the sort. 8 hrs later, I show up at the address provided on the Groupon, only to discover from one of her previous associates that she had relocated and not bothered to inform any of her scheduled clients. I am able to find the new address via her website, so I hurry over to the new location, and timidly peek my head in the door of what appears to be a Pilates studio, and a woman comes out and haughtily states, "You can COME IN," to which I respond, "Well, I wasn't sure if our appointment is today or tomorrow, so I tried to call this morning..." She then cuts me off and defensively starts explaining that she is a one man operation and cannot accept incoming messages because she is working, and, then adds that I am lucky that I was able to catch her in between appointments because she is, "too busy to return phone calls." I immediately called Groupon and asked them to refund my money, which they promptly did, and left the premises. In short, not the type of energy I am looking for from a spa industry practitioner. read more
