Something strange apparently happened when they changed their name from Ohio University Credit Union to OUCU Financial. Your CD money can grow nearly 5X greater at other Ohio credit unions! As the FED rises rates, sure OUCU Financial loan rates shot up...but deposit rates barely budged. I will probably be cashing in my CDs there early despite penalties assessed in doing so. By putting that CD money in another institution ( credit union or even a bank) I will quickly recover the penalty money, and grow from there. Something very wrong is happening with OUCU Financial. Don't deposit your hard-earned money there unless you desire to lose value in a very short time.

Tellers are always apologizing for the waits and there's always people just sitting in their offices staring at their computers. Any FI I have ever worked at people are crossed trained to come out and help assist members in line. People are in their lunch breaks trying to put money in their accounts or take money out and end up having to leave their places in line cause it takes so long. Not a way to treat members. Also it seems that tellers do a lot more things that could probably be taken care of by those people sitting in their office 'typing'. They updated their online banking system in late June 2025 and ever since then my debit card gets flagged for fraud at the drop of a hat. I'm a small business owner. I make international transactions regularly. This was never an issue before. Now, they locked me out of my account because I paid Amazon advertising. Before that, it was because I made a purchase at Walmart. These are two very common retailers! Why would their system flag them as fraud? On top of that, when you call for customer service, you're sent to someone overseas. They've outsourced and corporatized so much they aren't recognizable. You are better off going literally anywhere else. I will be closing my accounts ASAP and warning every small business owner I know in the area away!
