My parents aren't…read moretech-savvy, patience is not in their vocabulary, and with my mom's disability, the whole process becomes overwhelming fast. So naturally, everything gets shipped off to me like I'm some kind of IRS whisperer. This year though? GAME. CHANGER. From the moment I called, Yvonne answered like a ray of calm sunshine, friendly, patient, and not at all phased by my "help, I'm doing my parents' taxes and I need adult supervision" energy. Then Liz followed up like the organized queen she is, making sure I had every document lined up (honestly, better than I've ever had my life together). And then... Andrea. The CEO herself. ICONIC. Not only did she walk me through everything like a pro, she broke things down in a way that didn't make me feel like I needed a finance degree to understand it. We talked strategy, future planning, and somehow--SOMEHOW--she got my parents the biggest return they've ever had. I'm still not over it. What used to be the most stressful time of year turned into one of the easiest, smoothest experiences ever. My parents are happy, I'm stress-free, and we've officially become those people who won't shut up about their tax office. 10/10. Would trust them with my sanity again.

I love that she can always give me a proper suggestion on how to get things done and she helps me a lot with filing and also explaining to me everything. I have used Jim Jackson both as a lawyer and a CPA. In each instance the service was flawless,…read moredone in a timely manner and at an economic price. FIVE STARS I feel Jim has integrity and honor which is vital for an accountant and a lawyer. Feeling confident that I could send others to him, I have had excellent feedback especially if the person is under an IRS Tax audit and wants to throw into Jim's hands. An expert in handling the IRS audits. This is some unique expertise that not all CPAs have...43 years of experience !

Two years, wrong forms filed, serious money lost. He woke up only after I left a review…read more I hired James Jackson two years ago to file Form 8288-B for a FIRPTA withholding on a property sale -- a serious sum of money at stake. He charges $350/hour. He took the job, filled out and filed the forms, and the IRS rejected them. I originally chose him because of his 5-star Yelp reviews. After filing he went client hen I followed up, he kept pointing me to IRS Advocates -- people who couldn't make sense of what he'd filed. His response to my frustration: "The Advocate is the only solution that has worked for me in cases like this." Meanwhile, he admitted his own go-to CPA colleague "couldn't figure this one out either." His excuse for not calling the IRS directly? He couldn't get through -- too hard to bypass the automated system. That's not my problem to solve. That's what I paid $350/hour for. I knew from the beginning that a 1040-NR was the right path. He ignored that for an entire year, burned time on the wrong strategy, and only admitted it when the deadlines had already passed: "Now we finally know that a 1040NR is our only option. We didn't know that before." The only thing that got him to respond was a negative Yelp review. He called, promised to finish the work if I deleted it and paid more. I made the mistake of trusting him -- deleted the review and paid him more. He delivered nothing. I eventually had to handle everything myself. When I did, I was told his original filings were done incorrectly from the start. I left a second review. He called again asking me to remove it in exchange for finishing. I refused. One more thing: the address on his profile -- 10717 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 904, Los Angeles, CA 90024 -- is not a real office.

I found Alex through his YouTube channel and I couldn't be more grateful. He's patient, reliable,…read moreand incredibly knowledgeable! It's true. The first year you file taxes for your business in California and on a federal level, it seems like everyone is out to get you! It can be incredibly daunting to not only differentiate tax liability, but avoid misfilings, fees, and things you aren't even aware of. That's when I realized a faceless entity like h&r block wouldn't cut it for me. I needed someone personable, reliable, but most importantly have the knowledge tailor-fit to my situation. Not only was Alex super knowledgeable about the details, but he was always there for me. If I had a question or concern, I never felt abandoned through the process. I think it's because he's so organized, since he was always extremely communicative and never let me down. Well-versed in his various specialties, I've never met anyone so sharp and on top of things. Overall, I'd recommend him to anyone and I'll definitely be referring friends.

I had a great experience working with Alex. He is extremely knowledgeable -- and dare I say…read morepassionate?? -- about the intricacies of the tax code! He is professional, has excellent follow-through, and goes above and beyond to help his clients better understand their financial situations. A bit about the process: We started with a free, 15-minute consultation to determine whether Alex could help me. During this call, he gave me an estimate of how long it would take him to address my situation at his hourly rate of $325. Before Alex began work on my issue, I paid half of the upper end of the estimate upfront and Docu-signed an engagement letter. Alex took his time collecting all of my pertinent financial details and kept me apprised of the projected timeline throughout the process. We concluded with a scheduled call where Alex presented me with a very organized, well-thought-out PDF showing potential outcomes considering different variables. He spent an hour and 15 minutes patiently going over the PDF with me and answering every question I could come up with at the time. Since our scheduled call, Alex has remained available via email and phone for further inquiries. He is always friendly and eager to help. And when he can't come up with an answer or explanation on the spot, he researches it and follows up with what he's found. Highly recommended!
