Bill just completed repairs and a new roof on my 126-year-old camp. He did an excellent job and completed as agreed. He ran into some challenges on the project after getting underway and was very good at communicating and follow up. Bill also did a great job on the clean afterwards as well. Hello YELP TEAM! Please verify people's reviews before classifying them as Not recommended. You hide actual customer's review of a business and promote/encourage a bad review from some unstable individual with a personal vendetta, this is clearly a sign of poor business management and reason to not sign on as a paying customer. Responding to 1 star review- Lynne -New to the area Customer! In the 30+ yrs Wenz Construction has been in business, this is the first negative review ever made public. As disappointing as that may be, as the saying goes; "You simply can not make everyone happy" no matter how many hoops they make you jump though, no matter how hard you try it's just not possible. Unfortunately apart from bad mouthing/slandering of Wenz Construction this woman did to people (unbeknownst to her being New to the area) friends and local business associates who she unleashed her comments to thankfully they countered her abruptly, knowing her slander as untrue abruptly stopping the conversation as she realized there is a familiarity established connection she was not aware of!? Ultimately Yelp and any other social media platforms is her only outlet to attempt ruin the good reputation this company has. In this area it literally takes years of hard work to establish a good reputation but sadly through these platforms it barely takes minutes to destroy someone's good reputation with little to no recourse for disgruntled customer reviews. If you're smart you ask questions and get a list of customers, not just 1 or 2 get a at least 5 or more so you find the contractor that is the best fit for you and your project! You literally couldn't find more accommodating, conscientious contractors, they are very well known for their work in not just the Waldo County area but Knox and Hancock as well. It's very simple and smart for any customer looking to have work done inquire online about a business but remember in doing so, it is important when reading reviews that there are 2 sides to every situation, do your homework and ask your contractor for a list of references. These are the reviews you want. After numerous endless conversations, phone calls and texts at all hours of every single day this unhappy customer could not understand why after agreeing to have work done that it was not cost effective, conducive or productive to work along side said contractor hindering her project at every step of the way!? No matter how many times it was expressed that when you hire someone to do work for you then you let them do the work you hire them for. Unfortunately no matter how many conversations, it was apparent this customer was unable to allow room for the work to be done so a decision was made to cut ties with her with nothing owed to her as any materials used were paid for in full with any materials not used were returned and credited through the lumber companies. Saying she was stolen from now opens her up to legal recourse of a defamation lawsuit. Regardless of how nice you try to be in kindly telling someone "You hired them to do your job, you didn't hire them to work along side them, at the end of the day it wasn't what she wanted to hear. The plumber and electricians sub-contracted to help complete her project also quit as they too had experienced the same suffocation. She has gone through a number of contractors since this review was posted. We would also like to add that if you look further into this yelp page there is another review from Gloria B. in Stockton Springs that has reviewed Wenz Construction giving high praise!? For some odd reason her review is not recommended? If someone on the Yelp staff can please clarify this it would be greatly appreciated! read more

Wenz construction committed to my house renovation the beginning of September. They did my house and garage roof and demo inside my house. When I asked when he would be able to finish my gutted bathroom and gutted front hall, he had a complete meltdown. He ranted and used the F bomb repeatedly, I could barely get a word edgewise. He also said he would install 17 replacement windows. After his vulgar rant he told me me to f-off and find someone else. Again I could barely say anything at all. Now Iam left with gutted rooms. He also was suppose to credit with left over materials, well he won't, so as far as Iam concerned he stole them. People beware!!!! I understand everyone is busy, but to swear and rant was not warranted. read more
