My experience with WenKan was my biggest regret in my wedding. It still pains me a year after our wedding that I trusted him so much to do a good job. I would definitely not recommend him. However, if you are thinking about using him, I would encourage you to have an in-depth conversation with him regarding your expectations including fulfilling his contract. I felt that he needed someone to tell him exactly what to do at all times and because I did not "babysit" him, he did not do what you would expect him to do, such as taking photos of guests at cocktail hours and moments of bridesmaids getting ready, bride and groom lighting unity candle, our grand entrance, guests' emotions during the speeches, etc. A lot of times the group photos were taken when our wedding party wasn't ready yet. Now it's difficult for us to even pick a nice group photo without anyone looking away, blinking, or not smiling yet. I felt like we got ripped off because of these. When we did give him feedback and direction during the wedding, we felt that he was rude, lazy, and not willing to please his client. Post-wedding, we found his communications to be passive-aggressive, and he lacked basic customer service skills. I'd recommend that anyone using him as a wedding photographer very clearly communicate expectations well ahead of time. read more
