Before COVID, they would host free open mics for students to show off their favorite songs, with complementary snacks and drinks. While that has stopped, they continue their Rockstar program, where kids can sign up and play in a rock band with their peers. I've attended and played in these concerts, and they're so much fun! They even have a new adult Rockstar band! The students are nice, the staff are knowledgeable, and the manager Jeff is very thorough with explanations. Only way they could improve is with more seating in the waiting area, but I believe Jeff has tried to remedy this with a futon sort of thing in the middle.

She is an effective and empathetic teacher and knows how to motivate the different personalities of the harpists she teaches. She is kind and has a great balance of keeping the kids feeling engaged, but also staying firm with them to keep their form strong. She typically hosts 2 recitals a year and it's great to hear her students playing together. We have been pleased with our daughter's experience and how she has just loved playing the harp and growing in her music theory and playing skills. If you're not familiar with Suzuki method, essentially a parent comes along for the lessons and leans alongside the student, so that at home the parent can be involved and part of the practicing. It's been great to learn new pieces with my daughter, though at this point I am unable to keep up. My talent peaked at Twinkle, Twinkle. The studio itself is a calm and open space with several full-size harps and a beginner one without pedals. It's a relaxing space and perfect for instruction. If you or someone you love is interested in the harp, you should give Brittany a call. She can make recommendations about renting and buying harps and all the equipment needed to keep your harpist at the top of their craft. The cost of the lessons is reasonable and Brittany works hard to find a schedule that meets your needs.

We had a long chat with Linda from Jovie about this, and I honestly thought we were on the same page. We trusted them to find us a nanny who would be with us long term. Here's what happened. Our nanny, who was fantastic and really clicked with our kids, ended up leaving for another job Jovie showed her only after being with us for 11 weeks. Once we found out we spoke with our nanny and she said she loved our family, in fact she told us it was a difficult decision to make and she would love to come back if we needed her for date night,etc. This new position Jovie showed her had a schedule that better fit her needs. What's unprofessional is that Jovie didn't give us a heads up until the day before she was set to leave, though they knew about it four days earlier. That hit us hard because it was unexpected, and it put us in a bind trying to figure out what to do next. Two replacements were offered. One with limited experience, her qualifications showed she had only 1 day of infant training. The other replacement we weren't shown a resume because she had not completed orientation. We were not interested in these two options. We were very clear we wanted long term care and ultimately this internal transfer our nanny made hurt our children's wellbeing. And seeing our 4-year-old so upset and confused about why his nanny just disappeared has been the hardest part. Our family trusted Jovie and they let us down and most importantly let our children down. I'm not one to complain, but I feel I have to be straight with other parents out there. Based on what we went through, if you're looking for dependable, long-term childcare, you might want to think twice about Jovie. It's a tough lesson we learned about the difference between what a company promises and what they actually deliver. Shame on Jovie and Linda for putting our kids and family through this emotional situation.
