Let me start with the good part :-) The food was delicious. And so was the wine. But the place had a bit of a low cost feeling to it. We were seated by a man wearing a body warmer, and the waiters were not wearing traditional clothing. The paper napkins were a good example of how this restaurant isn't quite the luxury one the wall decoration suggests. The French, I guess 1930's style jazz music, didn't fit the 'local restaurant' style at all. In the non smoking area there was no wifi signal. The toilet had quite a lot of paper towels laying around on the floor because the rubbish bin was full. Price: I haven't been to may places in Graz, but I would say it's at a medium price range. 5 euro for a glass wine (the glasses were quite full), 13-26 euro for a main course and deserts at around 7-9 euro. I must say, all staff was very friendly. But I would not come back here again. read more

I have walked by this place so many times while strolling around Graz. I always stop and admire their decorations. This time I went in to admire the food! They were very busy during lunchtime and the menu was full of fall specialties including goose, pumpkin, and wild meats. I wasn't incredibly hungry so I only ate the pumpkin soup which was incredibly spiced and hearty! I have never tried pumpkin soup with dill before, and I have to say it works! My mother-in-law from the Steiermark loved her goose soup and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the daily menu. The restaurant is housed in the old Graz Landhaus and is decked out with an older, more lavish country style and seems to have been renovated within the last couple of years. There are rooms for smoking and non-smoking with separate doors if you prefer and outdoor seating in the summer. read more

Nice place with great atmosphere. For Styrian cuisine lovers this restaurant is an obligatory place in Graz to visit. Kürbiscremesuppe, Styrianschnitzel and Steiereis are my favorites. read more

The Austrian specialties sounded and tasted excellent but the smoking atmosphere especially by the manager really detracted from the experience. If you are used to smoking in restaurants you should enjoy. I tend not to pay for good food to have it ruined by the staff smoking. read more

I sat outside, which was nice when the cigarette smoke wasn't blowing my way. I had a large beer and the "Entenbrust auf Pfefferrahmsauce" (which turned out to be a duck breast in a nice sauce with large tater tots and vegetables). Food was decent, though the duck was quite tough to cut with a butter knife and the vegetables had clearly been frozen previously. Still, not bad for ~11.5 euros overall (~13 USD). Biggest issue was that I did not have cash, and I had to walk to an ATM around 10-15 minutes away to pull out cash and pay for my meal. Overall, experience was "A-OK", but not what I had expected seeing other Yelp reviews.

Ich habe erst letztens mit meinen Kumpels von der arbeit dort gegessen,und ich fand das essen einfach nur lecker und günstig war es auch. Meine Kollegen konnten auch nur gutes Feedback wieder geben. Das Restaurant ist auch leicht zu finden beim nächsten mal,werde ich also keine Probleme damit haben den laden wieder zu finden und die Mitarbeiter sind wirklich freundlich und wissen wie man zu reden hat. read more

Ich freue mich jedes mal wieder, wenn ich in den Genuss der traditionellen Welscher Stub´n kommen kann. Die Gerichte sind aufwendig zubereitet, das Service-Team ist sehr freundlich, und es herrscht dort stets eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Die Gerichte sind zwar kein Schnäppchen, aber dem Aufwand und vor allem dem Geschmack vollkommen angemessen. Deswegen eine klare Empfehlung von mir. read more

Welscher Stub'n sind nichts weiter als eine wahre österreichische Stube mit Spezialitäten toller Qualität. Die freundlichen Kellner lassen einen nicht lange warten und auch preislich ist das Restaurant in einem durchaus angemessenen Rahmen. Während meines Urlaubs bin ich auf dieses nette Restaurant gestossen. Es gibt dort tolle Weine und das Essen schmeckt auch sehr lecker. Preis/Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut, besser als im benachbartem Lokal, freundliche Bedienung. Angenehmes Ambiente im Nichtraucherraum. Vielleicht könnten die Papierservietten durch solche aus Stoff ersetzt werden, wäre angebrachter. Ein kleiner Gruß aus der Kueche würde das gute Bild noch abrunden. read more
