Specialties
At Wellspring Holistic Center we believe that all people have the innate ability to heal themselves. We know that the human body wants to be well on all levels: body, mind, and emotions. We assist in the process of healing by offering holistic, complementary medical modalities (including acupuncture and many body-based techniques), breath and alignment focused classes, as well as workshops and community outreach that educates the public and helps bring awareness to the field of holistic healing.
Our goal is to empower people. We help them take their health into their own hands. We offer highly trained and skilled practitioners, a supportive atmosphere, and most importantly, the time to listen to each person's individual story.
Our doors are always open for those clients, students, teachers, and practitioners who desire a life of working together to create a world of abundance, well-being, and peace.
History
Established in 1994.
Anita Bondi and Louise Bowman are sisters and the directors of Wellspring Holistic Center! Currently we have two locations: Main Street in Stroudsburg,PA and East Brown Street in East Stroudsburg,PA.
Wellspring Holistic Center was originally called The Holistic Arts Studio, and was founded in 1994 by massage therapists Anita Bondi and Jane Ely. It was located at 560 Main Street in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. The pair completely remodeled the historic space on the second floor of what used to be one of the Poconos premier banks (First Bank of Stroudsburg), while retaining the integrity of the interior space and honoring that vital part of Stroudburg's history.
The first of its kind in the Poconos, The Holistic Arts Studio presented what was a bold, new concept for the region: combining the offices of a group of healing practitioners with various forms of healing exercises and movement. Thus, the center has been home over the years to a wide variety of practitioners and teachers, incl
Meet the Business Owner: Louise and Anita B.
Anita: My life seems to be an ongoing attempt to join my love of movement with my innate desire to help people grow. My journey began with a formal degree in social work and many years of informal training in dance. I am certified in numerous bodywork modalities and have had a private practice since 1988. The study of the whole person - body, mind, and emotions-along with the subtleties of each individual's fascial map will have me fascinated and awe struck for the rest of my life.
Louise:I received my MS in Nutrition and Acupuncture in 1998 from Bastyr University in Seattle, WA. I opened a private practice in Collegeville, PA where I practiced for three years before moving my practice to Phoenixville, PA. I also worked at Steiner Medical and Therapeutic Center. In 2005, I married and moved to the Pocono region but continued to practice in Phoenixville two days per week until June 2006 when I started practicing with Eva Berend before opening Wellspring in January 2007.
