The teachers care so deeply about their students, and there is a beautiful dialogue between teacher and parents so that each child is seen and held. The academics are lovely and meet our kids right where they are in their development. And the reason we love it the most, and would recommend the school to anyone is the way they teach to the whole child. My kids are growing up with incredible social-emotional skills, awareness of the environment/stewards of nature, and have such a gorgeous community of friends and family to lean on. The festivals are also such a treat, and I would say even if you aren't at the school make it out to the Winter Faire!

He's thriving in an environment that truly honors childhood -- with play, creativity, and care at the center of everything they do. The teacher is warm, thoughtful, and deeply attuned to the kids. You can tell the staff love what they do, and the children absolutely flourish under their guidance. We especially appreciate how the school weaves hands-on learning into the day: from seasonal arts and crafts to preparing food together in class. Our son comes home talking about the bread they baked or the soup they made, and it's clear he's learning valuable life skills while having fun. It's also been wonderful to see him grow socially -- the community of parents is tight-knit and welcoming, and the kids build strong friendships in a nurturing, screen-free environment. We're excited to enroll our younger son in the same program next year. It's a gift to have a place like this on the Central Coast.

The teachers are kind and loving to the kids, they are very present and do a great job of getting to know each child. They are very communicative with parents and we're so helpful with our potty training journey. All the teachers really care about the kids that attend and will do their best to work with them on anything they need. The director also is very caring and attentive to all the children that attend the school and can usually be found out on the playground with them or in the classroom. I love that they take so much care with each child and its not just "watching" other people's kids all day.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Little Ducklings. Ms. Hicks and her assistants have a…read moreton of experience caring for children and their knowledge and kindness are unmatched. They truly care about their ducklings and go above and beyond to offer one-on-one attention to each child. Our son has speech delays and Ms. Hicks has played a crucial role in working with him and helping us find additional services. Her background is in education so the daycare is set up more like a Montessori school which we really appreciate. (We looked at similar daycares and they cost double!) At Little Ducklings they do a lot of fun activities while also working on developmental skills. They are very good about updating us on what they are learning. They will send us videos of the curriculum (songs, etc) and pics of our son which helps us work on skills with him at home. Little Ducklings is a such a great school and we feel lucky to be part of it.

I really like there is also ample parking and it is well lit. It's a great location and close to San Luis Obispo. It's a nice location for a school. The architectural design and layout is somewhat similar to Laguna Middle School. Also, there are some really good eateries that are located within a few miles of the school; unless, you want to drive back to San Luis Obispo to eat. Great gymnasium and close to home :)
